We previously showed you a jailbreak tweak called WAIgnoreCalls by iOS developer nowesr1 that allowed users to ignore incoming calls from the WhatsApp Messenger app based on certain criteria. But for those wanting to improve their capabilities in the app even further, the same developer has also released a free jailbreak tweak called WALocationSpoofer that may be of interest.
Just as the name insinuates, WALocationSpoofer allows users of the WhatsApp Messenger application for iOS and iPadOS to spoof their location, or in other words, make it appear as if they reside at a certain location on the globe where they really aren’t residing.
Whether you’re attempting to fool someone into thinking you live somewhere you don’t or otherwise, WALocationSpoofer is just the jailbreak tweak you need to do this. As shown in the screenshot examples above, the tweak adds a dedicated preference pane to the WhatsApp Messenger app itself where you can enable location spoofing on demand and select a location where you want your location to appear.
When you attempt to select a location, you’re presented with an Apple Maps interface where you can drop a pin. Wherever you drop the pin is where the tweak will place your location, and it will then feed that location into the WhatsApp Messenger app to make it believe you’re there.
It’s worth noting that WALocationSpoofer only works for the WhatsApp Messenger app, and there are other jailbreak tweaks that can do this system-wide for other apps.
