Apple is moving right along, preparing its major platforms for the next update. Today, a new beta seed is available to developers.
Apple launched the latest major update to iOS 14 in late April. Now, the company is issuing another update, this one focused on one aspect of the latest software.
Apple seeded the first developer beta of iOS 14.6 even before the company released iOS 14.5 to the public. But now that that major update is out there, the company is pushing ahead with the next one.
Apple has been working on the next update for iPhone and iPad for quite some time, seeding more than half dozen betas in the process. But now iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 are now live.
The quest to pwn the Apple Watch is one that has received oodles of attention over the years, and while the concept is most certainly possible, it hasn’t quite reached the level of fruition that most jailbreakers would expect – especially when compared with the jailbreak offerings for iPhones and iPads.
Much of this has to do with the uncertainty of an Apple Watch jailbreak’s usefulness in addition to concerns related to restoring the Apple Watch’s firmware in the event of catastrophic errors (respring loops, etc.), but that hasn’t stopped some jailbreak developers from dabbling with the idea.
Apple has been working on updating its popular operating systems over the last few months, with iOS 14.5 set to launch next week. Before that happens, though, Apple's ready with another beta.
Tim Cook recently confirmed that the public launch of iOS 14.5 is "a couple of weeks" away. As such, there's still time for more beta seeds to keep ironing things out before that happens.
Apple on Wednesday went ahead and seeded the latest betas of its popular operating systems to developers.
Apple has announced that it will host its next conference for developers from June 7, 2021, through June 11. Similar to the last summer's developers conference, WWDC 2021 will also be an online-only event rather than an in-person gathering due to the current pandemic.
Moving right along, Apple is seeding the latest beta versions of its upcoming updates to its operating systems, including iOS, watchOS, and macOS.
When Apple introduced privacy labels on the App Store back in December 2020, the company said it would hold itself to the same standard as its developers by providing privacy labels for all its stock apps for the iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch and Apple TV. Keeping true to its promise, the tech giant recently launched a webpage listing privacy labels for all its stock apps.
Just over a week after seeding the first betas of iOS 14.5 and iPadOS 14.5 to developers, the company moves on with the next version.
