Chris Miller and Phil Lord’s murder mystery comedy ‘The Afterparty’ debuts January 2022 on Apple TV+

After an initial report that told us Chris Miller and Phil Lord, of The Lego Movie fame, were working on a murder mystery comedy for Apple TV+, things went dark. And that was way back in June of last year. But now, all this time later, we not only know when the new series will arrive on Apple's streaming service, but we also have the first teaser trailer.

Ted Lasso is kind of a success story for Apple TV+, with a fledgling video streaming service hosting a legitimate hit. The first season was a resounding winner for Apple, and everyone involved with the creation of the show. And with the second season just about to wrap up (with a lot more people offering up "negative opinions" about the show), it looks like the show has just secured a pretty big deal for one of the world's largest sporting bodies.

Earlier this month, Apple confirmed that its fall lineup slate for Apple TV+ would consist of at least three new family -friendly series, created mostly for kids. We got a trailer for one of the upcoming shows at the time, and now we get a look at the other two.

Today, Apple TV+ has shared the trailers for both Puppy Place and Get Rolling With Otis. The former of the pair is based on a Scholastic best-seller of the same name, which was written by Ellen Miles. The series is set to premiere on Apple TV+ on Friday, October 15, 2021. It's a scripted series, where people try to find "fur-ever" homes for puppies that need them.

Back in January of 2019, word surfaced that Apple had given the go-ahead for a full series order to a "large budget sci-fi series" from the co-producer of the X-Men films, Simon Kinberg. Unfortunately, some production delays hit the show pretty hard, and it wouldn't be until November of 2020 that production would get back into gear. At the time, though, we did get a look at the cast, with Sam Neill (Jurassic Park) set to lead.
