Report: Apple close to striking major partnership with NHL

The National Hockey League has informed teams that it is in late-stage negotiations with Apple over a major partnership, reports TSN. Citing sources familiar with the matter, the Canadian sports outlet says the deal could see iPads and other technology come to NHL team benches.

Apparently the League has been in talks with Apple, and competitor Microsoft, for several years, but discussions with the iPhone-maker accelerated after a similar deal with the NBA fell through. The source says this pact could still dissipate, but it's pretty far along for that to happen.

The Series 2 comes with exclusive Nike-branded bands, watch faces and complications, plus the Nike+ Run Club app is built-in. Ahead of tomorrow's launch, Nike+ Run Club for iOS was refreshed this morning with new features on the Apple Watch Series 2.

We were really bummed when we found out that the stylish fluoroelastomer bands shown with the Apple Watch Nike+ are exclusive to the model. This means that those of us who already own an Apple Watch can't purchase these bands separately.

Confirming earlier hints, Apple this morning announced that the Apple Watch Nike+, a special version of the Apple Watch Series 2 it's created in partnership with Nike, is going on sale this coming Friday, October 28. The $369 device has the same industrial design, price and hardware features as the Apple Watch Series 2.

It also packs in exclusive perks like special fluoroelastomer Nike Sport Bands available in a choice of four colors with perforations to reduce weight and improve ventilation, Nike-branded watch faces and complications and more.

Stunning NFL game day photos show off the power of iPhone 7 Plus camera

Professional photographer David Klutho took some stunning action photographs for the Sports Illustrated magazine at yesterday's Titans-Vikings NFL matchup. The images were taken with an iPhone 7 Plus and highlighted on Twitter by Apple CEO Tim Cook. Katy Perry’s “Rise” launches exclusively on Apple Music ahead of 2016 Summer Olympics

Apple Music, which celebrated its first anniversary last month, now lets subscribers listen to Katy Perry's first new single in two years, “Rise”. The song, which Perry wrote herself, is described by The Entertainment Weekly as “an uplifting track with a dash of electronic influence,” with the music video containing scenes from the NBC Olympics.

NBC will play the song as the anthem of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

Check out Euro 2016 Easter egg surprise hidden on Apple’s website

Apple hid a nice Easter egg surprise on its website for fans of soccer who are currently following the 2016 UEFA European Championship. Apple websites in the United Kingdom and elsewhere in Europe now sport an updated Choose Your Country selector with Euro 2016 country groups and schedules.

As reported on by Dutch blog iCulture, the Cupertino firm even temporarily added a few new countries that it does not have regional websites for—like Albania, Iceland, Northern Ireland, Ukraine and Wales—to ensure that the groups and bracket are filled out properly.
