The UE Boom Bluetooth speaker offers 360 degrees of immersive sound

Apple's new streaming service is a big hit. While it may still need some polishing, it is an excellent music player that houses an immense collection of tunes for you to listen to both on and off line. Now, you just need something to play music through that is better than the iPhone 6's tiny speakers.

If you are looking for a little more power than just a personal, portable speaker, the UE Boom is the best in its class. It is small enough to fit in your drink holder, rugged enough to take camping, and powerful enough to be heard in a room full of partiers.

Apple recalls overheating Beats Pill XL speakers that pose fire safety risk

In a rare display of a voluntary product recall, Apple has pulled the Beats Pill XL wireless speakers citing a possible fire safety risk caused by overheating.

According to a media release Apple PR put out Wednesday, the voluntary recall of all Beats Pill XL speakers, “including a refund for customers,” does not affect any other Beats or Apple products.

“Apple has determined that, in rare cases, the battery in the Beats Pill XL may overheat and pose a fire safety risk,” notes the press release.

Harmon Kardon SoundSticks: when modern industrial design meets beautiful sound

Some speakers are great for on-the-go listening. Others are meant for rugged used in the outdoors. There are plenty of quality mobile Bluetooth speakers out there. But what about stationary speakers? Harman Kardon, one of the best-known quality sound system companies, offers the SoundSticks Wireless Bluetooth Speaker System so you can stream media from your iPhone in style.

NYNE Multimedia Aqua Bluetooth speaker is fully waterproof, and it floats

As the weather gets warmer and summer looms around the corner, I find myself daydreaming about spending hours at the river, swimming in the cool pockets of still waters. Wouldn’t it be great to bring a speaker? But, I don’t want to ruin it by accidentally dropping it in the water.

NYNE Multimedia has solved that problem with a fully waterproof Bluetooth speaker called Aqua. Not only can you drop the external audio source right into a body of water, but it will also float, so you don’t have to worry about it sinking to the bottom of the pool.

Take your sound to the next level with Anker Classic Portable Bluetooth Speaker

There is no reason to even bring up the fact that the iPhone’s internal speaker system sucks, but I just did. So the best solution to a terrible sound is boosting it with something else.

The Anker A7908 Portable Bluetooth Speaker is a box speaker that fits in the palm of your hand, but packs a punch when it comes to increasing the volume of your iPhone 6. The nearly 20-hour battery life makes it possible for you to keep the party going, all night long.

Moshi, the maker of premium accessories and peripherals for Apple devices, announced today at CES in Las Vegas a gorgeously crafted wireless speaker with built-in support for AirPlay, a media streaming technology from Apple.

Because AirPlay is directly supported by the Spatia speaker hardware, as Moshi is marketing its new product, you can stream music from an iPhone, iPod touch, iPad or Mac to the speaker without being connected to a home Wi-Fi router.

SuperTooth, a maker of Bluetooth speakers hailing from France's Nebias, unveiled at CES a multi-speaker system that does more than fill your room with wireless music.

They're calling it the Multiroom System and it uses up to five speakers connected by Bluetooth and controlled by an app for iOS or Mac to bring music to different rooms of your home.

Setup couldn't be simpler.

The master speaker receives the music from your device via Bluetooth and then streams it wirelessly to up to four satellite speakers anywhere in your home, using proprietary RF wireless technology.

Divoom Bluetooth speakers offer big sound in a small package

The market is crowded with Bluetooth speakers. Every time you turn around, there is someone selling another Bluetooth speaker. They are an excellent iOS device accessory and I recommend having at least one. Of course, they run the full range of prices and I have had my hands on cheap and expensive several hundred dollar models.

When choosing a speaker, it is important to decide what is most important to you. Do you need one small enough to throw in your bag or do you prefer a home theater style option that can shake the walls with crisp and booming sound? Divoom is on the lower end of the Bluetooth spectrum. Providing small packaged, portable Bluetooth speakers with a rugged edge is the niche market for the Texas based company, which sent them over for review.

The Truffol DuraSound offers big sound with small footprint

There is an assortment of Bluetooth speakers on the market and almost any accessory maker thinks they should enter the flooded marketplace. With that attitude, your product should bring something a little different to the crowd. Truffol's DuraSound exists somewhere between business professional and outdoor appropriate.

DuraSound has a very conservative, simple, rectangular design, with a flat matte finished front and back grill. This simple design with clean edges and finishes makes it suitable for the office. In contrast, the color-matched silicon bumper allows the device to be toted around for after hour drinks.

New iPhone 6 parts reveal larger speaker, embedded Apple logo and redesigned vibrator

A flurry of photographs of the allegedly leaked iPhone 6 parts published Thursday morning by French blog NowhereElse.fr hint at several design choices Apple engineers took in order to make the device more sleeker and thinner than its predecessor.

Internal and external components like SIM trays, the Apple logo, Home buttons, the internal speaker and vibrator motor all appear to be differently designed and engineered than the comparable parts found in the iPhone 5s.

The leaked parts suggest that the next iPhone will be offered in the same silver, gray and gold colorways as the iPhone 5s while featuring an improved vibrator, the embedded logo on the back and possibly an enhanced sound system.
