Chimera jailbreak updated to v1.5.1 with more bug fixes and improvements

If you’ve been paying attention to the Odyssey Team’s Discord channel or Twitter page recently, then you’ve likely witnessed the sudden priority shift to the iOS 12-centric Chimera jailbreak – a notable departure from the team’s typical precedence, the iOS & iPadOS 13-centric Odyssey jailbreak.

The sudden attention to Chimera is no coincidence, as Chimera Team lead developer CoolStar had long envisioned back-porting the Odyssey Team’s successes with the Procursus bootstrap and libhooker tweak injection to Chimera. The team officially made it happen with Chimera v1.5 this week, and they’re out with yet another update this Wednesday evening in the form of Chimera v1.5.1:

Chimera jailbreak updated to v1.5, supports up to iOS 12.4.9 & adds Procursus bootstrap

As iOS 12-using jailbreakers might recall, the Chimera Team issued a new public beta of its Chimera jailbreak tool earlier this week with Procursus bootstrap and full libhooker tweak injection integration and a plethora of backported improvements from the iOS & iPadOS 13-centric Odyssey jailbreak tool.

Early Wednesday morning, however, the Odyssey Team took to Twitter to announce that Chimera version 1.5 had been officially released to the general public without the ‘beta’ asterisk attached to the name:

While much of the modern jailbreak community is currently focusing on current firmware versions like iOS & iPadOS 13 and 14, that hasn’t stopped the Chimera Team from launching a new beta version of its iOS 12-centric Chimera jailbreak tool.

Chimera Team lead developer CoolStar took to the Announcements section of the official Discord channel bright and early Monday morning to share links to Chimera v1.5.0 beta 1 — the latest public beta of the jailbreak tool for iOS 12 devices:

Odyssey Team planning to update jailbreak soon with improvements to new exploit

The Odyssey Team updated its jailbreak tool on Friday to add support for the newly released iOS 13.5.1-13.7 exploit, and while the updated tool attracted a lot of positive response from the community, some avid jailbreakers were left disappointed after learning that handsets equipped with A8 or A9 chips and running the newly supported firmware versions weren’t supported – at least not at the time of this writing.

A Tweet shared by the Odyssey Team this Friday afternoon, offered some transparency into the current situation:

Odyssey jailbreak picks up support for iOS 13.5.1-13.7 thanks to new exploit

The Odyssey Team updated its iOS 13-centric Odyssey jailbreak tool at the crack of dawn Friday morning to version 1.2, adding support for the new iOS 13.5.1-13.7 exploit that was released by FreeTheSandbox in collaboration with ZecOps just yesterday.

An announcement about the release was Tweeted by the Odyssey Team’s official Twitter account this morning with a link for avid jailbreakers to download the tool for themselves:

Sileo and Zebra package managers each get updates with improved iOS 14 support

Checkra1n is the only public jailbreak tool capable of pwning iOS & iPadOS 14 at the time of this writing, and regardless of whether you use it as it comes or you use the Odyssey Team’s Odysseyra1n bootstrap, a few notable package manager updates are now available as of Wednesday evening that you probably won’t want to miss, assuming they apply to you.

No, the aforementioned updates aren’t for the pre-installed Cydia package manager, but instead for competing package managers that have gained a lot of traction in the past couple of years. We’re talking of course about Zebra, a popular Cydia alternative that can be installed with the native checkra1n bootstrap, and Sileo, the default package manager that comes pre-installed with the Odysseyra1n bootstrap.

It’s been an action-packed week for Apple, especially with all the recent hardware unveilings taking place, but that hasn’t stopped the folks over at the Odyssey Team from dropping an updated version of the iOS 13-based Odyssey jailbreak.

In an announcement shared to Twitter Monday afternoon, the Odyssey Team noted that it had released Odyssey version 1.1.1 with vital bug fixes and performance improvements:

Those who depend on the iOS 13-centric Odyssey jailbreak tool for all their iPhone and/or iPad liberation needs will be excited to learn that there’s a new update available. The latest version of Odyssey at the time of this writing is now 1.1.0.

The Odyssey Team announced the new update for the Odyssey jailbreak late last night via Twitter, and from what we can gather, it brings both bug fixes and improvements to the app’s built-in theming capabilities:

CoolStar updates libhooker to v1.3.0 with memory optimizations & more

Cydia Substrate isn’t the only tweak injector receiving new updates as of late. Libhooker, the premier tweak injection method for the iOS 13-based Odyssey jailbreak and for the Odysseyra1n script for the checkra1n jailbreak, just got a fresh upgrade to version 1.3.0 with some notable improvements.

Odyssey Team lead developer CoolStar announced the updated libhooker release Saturday night via Twitter, and further described the update and everything it brings in the official Discord channel:
