Apple just doubled iPhone SE storage without raising prices

As part of announcing iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus (PRODUCT)RED Special Edition in a new vibrant red aluminum finish, Apple this morning said that iPhone SE, its most affordable handset ever, is now available with double the storage at the same starting price of $399 in the United States.

The new 32 and 128-gigabyte capacities have replaced the previous 16GB and 64GB models of iPhone SE which are no longer sold. The new 32/128 GB iPhone SE models will be available beginning Friday, March 24 from apple.com and Apple Stores.

Galaxy S8 may capture slow motion video at 1,000 FPS & cost less than iPhone 8

According to prolific smartphone leakster Evan Blass, Samsung's regular Galaxy S8 and the rumored Galaxy S8 Plus models will occupy prices between Apple's iterative iPhone 7s and a new premium iPhone 8 model that will likely cost more than $1,000 unlocked. Blass also shared genuine-looking press renderings of the next Galaxy smartphone.

Meanwhile, SamMobile is reporting that Galaxy S8's slow motion video capture mode could blow iPhone 7 out of the water with the ability to capture a thousand frames per second. Apple's camera partner Sony recently announced a new 19-megapixel CMOS sensor (IMX400), built it into the new Xperia XZ Premium, that can capture slo-mo video at 960 frames per second.

Evernote just raised its prices

I stopped using Evernote more than a year ago because Apple's much-improved Notes fulfills all of my note-taking needs. That said, I understand that some folks still prefer Evernote because it's cross-platform and has advanced features like geotagging and uploading lots of data.

In announcing the price hike on its paid subscription plans, Evernote said the move would permit its developers to add even more features for power users.

Furthermore, customers who are on Evernote's Basic plan will no longer be permitted to use the service on more than two devices at the same time.

Purported iPhone 7 pricing leaks: 256GB version across all models, ‘iPhone 7 Pro’ mentioned

Citing a post on Chinese social network Weibo, PocketNow reported this morning that the flagship 256-gigabyte version of the iPhone 7 Plus could price-match the top-of-the-line 128-gigabyte iPhone 6s Plus model. According to the leaked pricing, the next iPhone lineup would include 32/64/256GB models for the 4.7-inch iPhone 7.

Its bigger brother, the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 Plus, somewhat strangely gets listed with 32/128/256GB storage choices. The Chinese price list also mentions a brand new model for the upcoming iPhone refresh, referred to as 'iPhone 7 Pro'.

Spotify price-matches Apple Music’s $14.99 per month family plan

Spotify may currently be running circles around Apple Music with the more than 30 million paid accounts versus about 13 million paying customers on Apple's music service, but that doesn't mean they're standing still.

In an attempt to make its service more competitive with Apple's, Spotify said today that families of six can now subscribe for just $14.99 per month, or appropriate local pricing, effectively price-matching Apple Music's family plan.

Apple drops Apple Watch price to $299 as it introduces new bands

Users will be happy to know that Apple apparently understands this, and as a result, its significantly reduced the price of its iCloud storage. Apple's just-announced iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus will be available for pre-order on Saturday, September 12th, and ship on September 25th. The iPhone 6s starts at $199 on contract, while the iPhone 6s Plus will be available for $100 more at $299 on contract. Both phones start with 16GB of flash storage space, and as Apple has done for many years now, price increases occur incrementally based on the amount of flash storage.

Apps get pricier in Russia over collapsing ruble

Apple is increasing App Store prices in Russia over the plummeting ruble, the basic monetary unit of the 145 million people country and some other former republics of the USSR, reports 9to5Mac.

So after halting online sales due to the fluctuating currency, now Apple's virtual store is feeling the repercussions of Russia's troubled economy.

Russian ruble, and consequentially the country's economy as a whole, have stagnated for months now due to the falling price of oil and economic sanctions imposed by EU and USA over President Putin's annexation of Crimea.
