Apple airs new iPhone 7 ads, “Morning Ride” and “Midnight”

Following its inaugural iPhone 7 commercial focused on water resistance, dual cameras and other new features, Apple today posted a pair of new videos on its YouTube channel. Titled “Morning Ride” and “Midnight,” these commercials challenge customers to “brave the elements with the water-resistant iPhone 7” and take better low-light pictures thanks to all-new sensors that capture more light than before.

New Surface ad wants you to think that your Mac “ain’t fast enough”

It's been only three days since Microsoft's advertising department unleashed a new ad salvo at Apple's direction in the form of a commercial for its Surface Pro 4 tablet/laptop hybrid and now it's posted yet another video to conveniently reiterate its message ahead of iPhone 7's launch tomorrow. Titled “Power of Touch”, the 30-second commercial doubles down on the ”the Mac lacks a touchscreen” theme.

Not only does Microsoft poke fun of the fact that Macs are long overdue for a refresh (yours supposedly “ain't fast enough” lately), but also disses the Mac for not shipping with a detachable keyboard or a stylus.

Motorola is telling supposed real-life iPhone loyalists to “Skip the Sevens”

Remember Motorola? Yes, they're still in the business and some of the handsets they make come with cool features, like quick customization modules that snap onto a phone using integrated magnets to add features like powerful speakers, external battery packs and so forth. It also made the first Android handset with a special low-power chip which made possible an always-listening “OK Google” mode.

With the iPhone 7 sales about to kick off, the Lenovo-owned company is now telling customers to “skip the sevens” and has produced a video in which supposedly genuine Apple fans express their disappointment with incremental iPhone 7 improvements like “a little better camera” and “a little faster processor”.

What happens next is a typical marketing crap.

Watch Apple’s iPhone 7 ad highlighting dual cameras, water resistance & more

Apple ahead of the iPhone 7's arrival on Friday began airing a new commercial which highlights various signature features of the device, such as water resistance, dual cameras, stereo sound and more. The advertisement ditches Apple's typically light concept with upbeat soundtrack in favor of an unusually dark-theme styled ad without narration, but it's still cool to watch.

New Surface Pro 4 ad pokes fun of the Mac because it doesn’t have a touchscreen

Microsoft over the weekend fired another ad salvo at Apple's tablet/computer strategy with a new (somewhat) amusing commercial. Simple titled “Get the Surface Pro,” the 30-second ad highlights Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 hybrid device which includes a stylus and comes with a detachable keyboard and an Intel chip allowing it to be transformed into a computer that runs Windows, Office and other real desktop applications.

Using the same singer from the previous commercial, the new video informs us that “If you try to write on a plain old Mac, the difference can be seen. It doesn't work.”

New Surface Pro 4 ad calls MacBook Air “less useful, like a hat for your cat”

Following its recent iPad Pro-dissing commercial, Microsoft today released another nicely done Surface Pro 4 ad which takes aim at the MacBook Air, calling it “less useful, like a hat for your cat”. Surface ads have successfully promoted competitive advantages of the hybrid device, which comes with a detachable keyboard, pen, touchscreen and more. And thanks to an Intel chip, it runs the full Office suite and most other Windows programs, like Photoshop.

What’s a computer? Just ask Cortana.

Apple's most recent iPad Pro commercial attempts to position the powerful tablet as the ultimate computer, but Microsoft begs to differ.

But in its latest commercial for the Surface Pro 4 laptop/notebook hybrid, the Windows maker challenges Apple by basically saying that just because you call something a computer doesn’t mean it fits the description.

“Cortana knows that the Surface Pro 4, with its powerful Intel Core processor, detachable keyboard with real keys and a trackpad, pen, touchscreen, full Office and external ports fits the description. Everything else is just late to the party,” says Microsoft.

Google Photos amps up advertising with funny new ad focused on automatic backup feature

Like many photo-syncing apps, Google's Photos online service and the mobile app provide an optional feature that automatically backs up to the cloud every image and video in a user's photo library. Apple, too, offers such a feature with iCloud Photo Library but its free five-gigabyte iCloud storage tier is no match for Google Photos unlimited cloud storage for your (recompressed) images (up to 16MP) and videos (up to 1080p). To drive that point home, they've put together an amusing new ad solely focused on that feature.

Storage full: new Google Photos ad is amusing

We were first to tell you about the most recent update to the mobile Google Photos app, which packs in 3D Touch shortcuts on the Home screen whilst highlighting a storage optimization feature. The following day Google published this video, a nice play on the widely criticized problem of entry-level 16GB iPhones having nowhere near the capacity to hold all of the photos people take on their iPhones.

“Because life shouldn’t stop when your phone storage does,” says Google. “Free up space with Google Photos and never run out of storage again.”

Apple posts new Shot on iPhone video for Olympics with words from poet Maya Angelou

Apple just published a brand new video on its YouTube channel this morning, the latest one in its successful 'Shot on iPhone' advertising campaign. Titled “The Human Family” and narrated with words of wisdom by Maya Angelou, who was an American poet, memoirist and civil rights activist, the sixty-second clip talks about the value of family while showing a series of photographs and videos featuring friends and family that were taken by iPhone users from around the world.

‘Shot on iPhone’ continues with a pair of new videos highlighting Slo-Mo video capture

It's been a while since Apple released any new 'Shot on iPhone' work by its fans in the form of slideshow videos. This morning, however, a pair of new clips surfaced on the company's official channel on YouTube, each running fifteen seconds long and highlighting videos scenes captured on an iPhone using a slow-motion feature.

Each clip highlights work by a different user, one located in Tel-Aviv, Israel and the other in Greater Sudbury of Canada's Ontario.

Apple celebrates Bastille Day with ‘Shot on iPhone’ photos in national flag colors

France is celebrating Bastille Day today and Apple has joined the festivities with a clever use of imagery from its award-winning 'Shot on iPhone' ad campaign on the Apple France homepage. The company carefully selected a batch of images from the campaign with predominant blue, white and red tones, and used them smartly on its website to form a basis for the French national flag colors.
