Jailbreakers who depend on an Apple Watch as a companion device for when their iPhone is slightly out of reach have come to appreciate lunotech11’s Legizmo series of jailbreak tweaks. These tweaks generally allow Apple Watches running certain versions of watchOS to pair with ordinarily unsupported versions of iOS.
In the months ahead of Halloween this year, we talked a bit about a project called Legizmo Kincaid by lunotech11 that could be used on jailbroken and non-jailbroken devices (the latter via TrollStore) to pair Apple Watches running newer versions of watchOS with older versions of iOS.
Legizmo Kincaid, the novel solution for pairing and using the latest Apple Watches on watchOS 9 with outdated version(s) of iOS, is adding support for the rootless dynamic of the Odyssey Team’s upcoming Cheyote jailbreak for iOS 15.0-15.1.1 and the new developer-centric, checkm8-based palera1n jailbreak for A9-A12-equipped handsets running iOS 15.0-15.3.1.
A little over a week ago, we told you about a development dubbed Legizmo Kincaid that would allow even those without a jailbreak to pair Apple Watches running newer versions of watchOS with iPhones running outdated versions of iOS.
Lots of jailbreakers are familiar with how it feels to run an older version of iOS while still attempting to buy the latest Apple Watch. In many cases, the Apple Watch’s newer firmware requires a newer installation of iOS, which wouldn’t be jailbreakable, and that’s why a jailbreak tweak called Legizmo exists.
Nine times out of ten, you’re going to see jailbreakers using older iPhones with not-so-current versions of iOS on them, and this tends to pose an issue when you’re also trying to get the latest and greatest Apple Watch and load the newest version of watchOS on it.
