Jailbreak Apps & Tweaks

These are the latest jailbreak apps and tweaks available for your iPhone or iPad. We save you time by highlighting only the best tweaks.

No3DTouchWidgets hides app widgets from iOS’ Quick Action menus

Quick Actions are the menus accessible from the Home screen with a 3D Touch gesture on any app icon (iPhone 6s or newer). They not only contain shortcuts to vital app functions but they sometimes host widgets that summarize information from that particular app.

While some enjoy these widgets, the same can’t be said for everyone. Unfortunately, Apple doesn’t provide a way to hide these widgets from the Quick Action menus, so a new free jailbreak tweak called No3DTouchWidgets by iOS developer DGh0st was born.

NotificationCenterXI ports the iOS 11 Notification Center experience to jailbroken devices

iOS 11 brings with it a whole host of changes, and one of the most notable right off the bat is the updated look and feel for Notification Center. Unfortunately for jailbreakers, upgrading is out of the question.

If you fall into that category, then new free jailbreak tweak dubbed NotificationCenterXI (iOS 10) by iOS developer LaughingQuoll might interest you. It ports the iOS 11 Notification Center experience to jailbroken devices, allowing jailbreakers to have their cake and eat it too.

Hide specific apps from the Siri Suggestions widget with HideSiriSuggestions

Siri Suggestions is an iOS widget that keeps track of your app usage and recommends the apps you use the most. While the concept is useful for some, the implementation is a hassle for others because it shows a history of your most frequently-launched apps.

Jailbreakers now have a decent solution to the quarrel without losing out on somewhat useful functionality. A new free jailbreak tweak called HideSiriSuggestions by iOS developer Andreas Henriksson lets you hide individual apps of your choosing from the widget.

FancyNC thins out your notification banners and widgets

A new free jailbreak tweak dubbed FancyNC by iOS developer Demy Kromhof makes your iPhone's banner notifications and widgets thinner, decreasing their visual footprint and pleasing the average minimalist.

Among the things it does to achieve the end result is remove both the bulky headers and the unsightly separator lines that appear on elements on both the Lock screen and in Notification Center.

NoTodayView disables the Spotlight widget page on the Home and Lock screens

NoTodayView is a new free jailbreak tweak for iOS 10 devices that can disable the Spotlight widget page on both the Home screen and Lock screen, which depending on how you use your device, can be very useful.

While most people like to use the Spotlight and widget page system that comes stock, it gets in the way when you try to use some other Home screen-modifying jailbreak tweaks like Mobius, which allow you to scroll infinitely through all of your Home screen pages and folders without coming to any dead-ends.

Notifications10 brings iOS 10 style notification banners to jailbroken devices

A ton of people are sticking with their jailbroken iOS 9 devices, but are drooling over the new features and interface changes in iOS 10. Fortunately, a new jailbreak tweak called Notifications10 can help bring some of the iOS 10 look and feel to your jailbroken iPhone.

Notifications10, as the name suggests, brings iOS 10-style notification bubbles and banners to your jailbroken iOS 9 device.

This tweak lets you use 3D Touch to measure an object’s weight

3D Touch gives iPhone 6s users tons of new features throughout the iOS operating system out of the box, but that's not keeping the jailbreak community from coming up with incredible new uses for it.

Grams is an incredible new jailbreak tweak being made available in Cydia's BigBoss repository for $0.99 that allows those with an iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus to measure the weight of light objects by using the 3D Touch display right from Control Center, and in this piece, we'll take you through a few of the details of how it's able to accomplish this.

NCMeters: add customizable system vital meters to Notification Center

NCMeters is a non-intrusive tweak for monitoring system vitals via Notification Center. It allows you to check CPU usage, memory and storage usage, and monitor both upload and download speeds.

NCMeters only runs when you have Notification Center open, so it's not going to be overly taxing on system resources when going about your daily business. To ensure accuracy, data is collected using traditional command line tools.

Along with those basics, NCMeters features quite a bit of customization. Have a look at our video walkthrough and see for yourself.

Upcoming ‘iOS Blocks’ tweak aims to change the way you interact with apps on iOS

Last year, we posted information on a research paper and iOS concept called iOS Blocks. Jay Machalani (@technofou), the brains behind the concept, suggests that an interface that combines Windows Phone's live tiles and Android's widgets, would be a best-of-both-worlds-scenario for iOS users.

iOS Blocks would essentially allow users to have proper widgets on the iOS Home screen, but the concept is put together in a way that make it totally seamless and transparent to users who prefer to use iOS like they always have. The widgets would mix the uniformity and standardization enjoyed by Windows live tiles with the interaction of Android's widget system. It's a smart idea with hours of research and presentation. I highly recommend that you read the original post on Machalani's blog.

Obviously, Apple didn't bring any sort of Home screen widget system to iOS 8, but it did give us Notification Center widgets. As if it needs to be said, Notification Center widgets are a far cry from iOS Blocks—a feature that would add significant depth to the iOS Home screen experience.

So after a year, what's been made of this project and its corresponding research? Well, I have some good news: It's being developed into a real working tweak, according to this post on reddit by someone closely associated with the project.

WidgetCenter now available on Cydia

WidgetCenter—the Reachability piggybacking tweak that we previewed a while back—is finally available on Cydia after some delays. From developer Mitch Treece, who's well-known for tweaks like Aero, Deck, Fancy, and more, it's one of the better looking Reachability releases that I've seen thus far.
