Jailbreak Apps & Tweaks

These are the latest jailbreak apps and tweaks available for your iPhone or iPad. We save you time by highlighting only the best tweaks.

Easily customize the style of your texts and more with Textyle

While perusing the Changes tab in Cydia this week, I happened upon a particularly interesting new jailbreak tweak called Textyle by iOS developer Deniz Basegmez. Upon closer inspection, it looks like something that large sum of jailbreakers might want to try for themselves.

As shown in the screenshot example above, Textyle integrates with iOS’ native Action Menu interface, which materializes after selecting any string of text. When it appears, you can modify the selected text’s aesthetics with different types of Unicode-based fonts and styles.

This tweak lets you have a dark keyboard on your iPhone all the time

We can only hope that Apple is working on some sort of native dark mode for iOS that extends to the software keyboard we interact with each and every day, but until then, we’ll need to rely on jailbreak tweaks to get what we want.

Dark Keyboard is a subtly-named free jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Thomz that forces your iPhone or iPad to display the dark keyboard by default in virtually every typing interface that you can imagine on the iOS platform.

This tweak changes the Emoji keyboard’s scrubber animation

If you do a lot of texting from your iOS device(s), then chances are you send an Emoji every now and again. Apple’s Emoji keyboard is already nicely polished out of the box, but now you can make it even cooler with a custom animation by way of a new free jailbreak tweak called Organic Emoji Scrubber by iOS developer Orangebananaspy.

According to the developer, the new tweak adds an “organic” animation to the Emoji scrubber in the keyboard interface. Rather than attempting to explain what the amination looks like with words, we’ve embedded some animated GIF examples below so that you can see for yourself:

CopyLog: A full-fledged Clipboard manager for jailbroken iOS devices

CopyLog clipboard manager for jailbroken devices.

Whenever you copy or cut something on your iPhone or iPad, it gets stored in what’s called the Clipboard such that it can be pasted elsewhere in the future. By default, iOS only lets you store one item in the Clipboard at a time, but a new Clipboard manager jailbreak tweak called CopyLog by iOS developer TomT000 changes this to make copying and pasting several items so much easier.

Citing the developer, CopyLog’s user interface has been hugely inspired by the popular Mac app Paste, and enables you to keep track of numerous Clipboard items. What’s more is CopyLog lets you favorite certain Clipboard items, which helps you save them for easy access later.

Colorize your iPhone’s keyboard however you want with KeyboardColorXII

It was only yesterday that we showed you a free jailbreak tweak called DarkKeysXII that could give your iPhone’s keyboard a dark makeover, but what should you do if you wanted something more colorful? If you fall into this category, then you’re in luck!

A new free release called KeyboardColorXII by iOS developer asphyxia is now available in Cydia that lets you colorize your handset’s keyboard however you’d like, whether you prefer things dark, light, or even colorful.

DarkKeysXII gives your iPhone’s keyboard a dark makeover

DarkKeysXII is a new free jailbreak tweak by iOS developers Patrick Simpson and Ultra that implements a darker keyboard interface for jailbroken iPhones and iPads.

The tweak takes effect immediately after installation without the need to configure any complex options, giving you the slick darkened typing experience that you see in the screenshot examples above.

This tweak lets you change between iOS keyboards with just a swipe

The method of switching between keyboards on the iOS platform has always left a lot to be desired. Tapping on the tiny Emoji/language button at the bottom-left-hand side of the keyboard is nothing short of tedious, especially if you have larger fingers, but it doesn’t need to be.

KeySwipe (iOS 11) is a free jailbreak tweak by iOS developers Delewhopper and Julio Verne that lets you switch between keyboards on demand with a swipe (up or down) on the keyboard interface. As you might come to expect, this also means you don’t need to fiddle with the tiny Emoji/language button on the keyboard anymore.

Colorize your iPhone’s keyboard however you want with Laetus

One of the most fundamental reasons for owning a jailbroken iPhone or iPad is having the ability to customize it outside of Apple’s stock parameters. If you’re one to enjoy theming or changing the default colors of iOS, then you might appreciate what a free jailbreak tweak called Laetus by iOS developer SparkDev can do for you.

As depicted in the screenshot examples above, Laetus empowers users to colorize iOS’ native keyboard interface with custom colors. With it, you can change the color of the keyboard background and its key text independently of one another.

This tweak makes the iOS keyboard display 50 Frequently Used Emojis

If you send and receive Emojis from your iPhone or iPad often, then you’re probably familiar with the iOS keyboard’s “Frequently Used” section.

The Frequently Used section hosts the top 30 Emojis you use most often for faster access, but with a new free jailbreak tweak called MoreFrequentlyUsedEmojis by iOS developer A_H_Rabie, you can now increase that number to 50.

NoMoreSkinToneSuggestion prevents iOS from nagging you about skin tones for Emojis

Certain Emojis, especially those depicting hand gestures, support a variety of different skin tones, which are configured on a per-Emoji basis. If you’ve never set a skin tone for a particular Emoji before, then you’re likely to encounter the interface shown above when tapping on it.

While there’s nothing wrong with choosing a skin tone for your Emojis, it’s rather annoying how iOS asks you to select a skin tone for each Emoji individually instead of remembering your choice for all of them. Fortunately, a new free jailbreak tweak dubbed NoMoreSkinToneSuggestion by iOS developer A_H_Rabie prevents iOS from asking about skin tones once and for all.

TextEmojis lets you type Emojis and more with text shortcuts

A variety of popular third-party messaging apps, including Discord and Slack, let you enter Emojis by typing a colon followed by a specific shortcode. Apple doesn’t provide users with a comparable feature throughout the rest of iOS, but wouldn’t it be nice if they did?

If you answered “yes” to the question above, then you might be happy to learn about a new jailbreak tweak dubbed TextEmojis by iOS developer Andreas Henriksson. Once installed, you’ll be able to input Emojis and other quirky text faces by typing pre-configured text shortcuts.
