Two days before it's holding its "Gather round" event, Apple is inviting the public to the big show via a promoted tweet. The post asks users to tap on the Twitter heart below the tweet to receive updates on event day. Apple's event begins at 10 a.m. PDT on Wednesday, Sept. 12.

Kuo: 2018 iPhones to continue using Lightning, bundle with 5W slow charge adapter
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo today issued a research note to clients in which he outlined some interesting predictions about Apple's upcoming product refreshes. According to the analyst, 2018's iPhones won't ditch Lightning I/O for USB-C like iPad Pros nor will they include a stronger, Power Delivery-compatible power adapter to support the fast charge function.

iPhone Xs Max could be the name for Apple’s new 6.5-inch OLED handset
Last week, 9to5Mac published what it claimed was the first official image of this year's two upcoming OLED iPhones. At the time, the site said the long-rumored 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch models would be called iPhone Xs. Today, Sept. 5, 9to5Mac says the larger of these two models will likely be named the iPhone Xs Max.

Just hours after Apple announced it would be holding its fall event on Sept. 12, 9to5Mac has published what it claims is the first official image that shows two of the three new iPhones the company is expected to announce on that date. The site also claims the two new handsets have the name iPhone XS.
