If you pre-ordered the iPhone 7 or 7 Plus, or are hoping to score one in-store during launch weekend, you're going to want to start thinking about accessories. We've already recommended some good cases and Bluetooth headphones, and now it's time to talk about screen protectors.

Despite its largely familiar design, the iPhone 7 features a few tiny changes (wider earpiece, for example) that likely mean your iPhone 6 and 6s screen protectors won't fit properly. But never fear, we've rounded up some great, inexpensive options to help keep your screen scratch-free.

One of the smaller but no less important features included in both new iPhone 7 models is an entirely new and “immersive” stereo speaker system that Apples claims provides twice the sound. Risking to be chastised in comments for bringing this up, I do feel we need to clear up the confusion and reiterate that a second speaker grille at the bottom of the phone does not actually house a speaker and is there purely for cosmetic reasons.

Remember Motorola? Yes, they're still in the business and some of the handsets they make come with cool features, like quick customization modules that snap onto a phone using integrated magnets to add features like powerful speakers, external battery packs and so forth. It also made the first Android handset with a special low-power chip which made possible an always-listening “OK Google” mode.

With the iPhone 7 sales about to kick off, the Lenovo-owned company is now telling customers to “skip the sevens” and has produced a video in which supposedly genuine Apple fans express their disappointment with incremental iPhone 7 improvements like “a little better camera” and “a little faster processor”.

What happens next is a typical marketing crap.

With less than 24 hours left until first iPhone 7 shipments start hitting customers' doorsteps, YouTuber Marques Brownlee has put together a nice unboxing video featuring both new black options for the device, a supper glossy variant called Jet Black and its matte counterpart, referred to by Apple as simply Black.

The video offers interesting observations regarding the RAM, CPU performance, non-moving Home button and a new “Choose Your Click” Home button option.

Apple late Wednesday night issued a statement to several news outlets regarding launch day supply of its new iPhone 7. We've got the full text below, but the gist of it is that it doesn't sound like you'll be able to walk into an Apple store on Friday and buy an iPhone 7 Plus or any model in the new Jet Black colorway.

iOS 10 gains convenient cellular data shortcut with a little help from 3D Touch

iOS 10 takes 3D Touch, a pressure sensing technology which debuted a year ago on the iPhone 6s, to plenty new places throughout the operating system. With 3D Touch, you can clear all notifications in one fell swoop, rename folders quickly, prioritize downloads, interact with notifications and more.

You also get useful 3D Touch shortcuts upon pressing app icons in Control Center (sadly, 3D-touching Wi-Fi and Bluetooth toggles does nothing).

Worse, Control Center continues to inexplicably lack a dedicated cellular data toggle. But worry not, as Apple has found a way to slip in that sought-after cellular data shortcut with a little help from 3D Touch.

YouTube for iPhone picks up 3D Touch shortcuts

To say that YouTube, one of my favorite mobile apps from Google, has poor 3D touch support would be an understatement: it's been now a full year since the iPhone 6s introduced the world to 3D Touch and yet support for the technology is literally non-existent in YouTube for iOS.

Conveniently ahead of the iPhone 7's arrival, Google yesterday moved to assuage some of the concerns of users who have been craving for 3D Touch in the app, releasing a small update which enables some interesting shortcuts on the Home screen.

Apple ahead of the iPhone 7's arrival on Friday began airing a new commercial which highlights various signature features of the device, such as water resistance, dual cameras, stereo sound and more. The advertisement ditches Apple's typically light concept with upbeat soundtrack in favor of an unusually dark-theme styled ad without narration, but it's still cool to watch.

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus both sport larger batteries

Apple's iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are said to sport higher-capacity internal Lithium-Ion batteries than their predecessors.

No official battery capacity specs are listed on Apple's website, but they do say that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus are supposed to get 2 and 1 additional hour(s) of battery life respectively, in what are supposed to be after effects of the new power-sipping A10 Fusion chip combined with the efficient iOS 10 firmware.

On the other hand, a higher-capacity internal battery may also have something to do with it.
