The latest numbers from research firm UBS indicated Apple has blown its previous iPhone sales records by selling 69 million iPhones in the last quarter of 2014, fueled by the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus holiday sales. The rest of Wall Street believes Apple sold 65.5 million, however research from the UBS Evidence Lab says it sold close to four million more.

Apple now offering SIM-free iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models in the US starting at $649
As expected, Apple has begun offering SIM-free models of its new iPhone 6 and 6 Plus handsets in the United States this morning. The company unveiled the two devices in early September, and launched carrier versions of them later that month for Verizon, Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile.
Pricing for the new unlocked iPhones falls in line with Apple's past behaviors, with the 16GB model of the iPhone 6 starting at $649 and each storage tier jump adding an additional $100. The larger iPhone 6 Plus also adds $100 for each tier, so the 128GB model will cost you $949.

Switchability is yet the latest jailbreak tweak to incorporate the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus' Reachability view with a jailbreak modification. In this case, Switchability places the App Switcher into Reachability view, hence the name Switchability. I've been testing out the tweak for a while, and what I've found was a great concept, but its execution needs a little work before it's truly ready for primetime.

"The biggest iOS release ever."

The case was filed in a San Francisco Bay federal court on Tuesday, claiming iOS 8 can take up to 23.1 percent of storage on the iPhone 5s and 23.1 percent on an iPod. It says Apple isn't truly representing the storage available on its devices.
Apple dominated Christmas, activating 2.9 devices per one Samsung
Mobile analytics firm Flurry is out with its December Christmas week research, like it does every year, and one thing is extremely evident - Santa loves Apple. The iPhone accounted for 51 percent of new device activations from December 19th to December 25th, putting a pretty good beating on Samsung, who only accounted for 18 percent.
Flurry found that for every one Samsung device that was activated, Apple activated 2.9 devices. For every Microsoft Lumia device activated, Apple activated 8.8 devices. We'll have to wait until Apple's earnings call probably sometime in January for more of a per-device breakdown, but it looks like the iPhone 6 far outweighed any other version of the iPhone.

If like me you're not into cases but do care about adding a layer of protection to your iPhone, then you might want to check out The Scarf, an ultrathin case made by California-based company Totallee. Self proclaimed the world's thinnest case, The Scarf is 0.35 mm thin, and weights less than 0.20 ounces (about 5.5 grams), which equals to about the weight of a standard sheet of paper. In essence, The Scarf is the perfect case for the minimalists who usually wouldn't use a case, such as me.
Made of lightweight yet tough polypropylene, The Scarf provides basic protection against scratches and daily wear and tear, while complimenting your iPhone with a minimalistic design.
