Apple opens iOS 8.3 beta to the public, no developer account required

As predicted, Apple has opened up its iOS beta program to the public and is no longer requiring a paid developer account to test new software. Apple debuted the new public program on Thursday along with the third iOS 8.3 beta.

WSJ: Next iPhone to get Force Touch, distinguishing between light and deep taps

The Wall Street Journal reports on Tuesday that Apple will include Force Touch technology on its next line of iPhones, being able to distinguish between a light tap and deep press, like on the upcoming MacBook, MacBook Pro, and Apple Watch.

Barclays: Apple could sell 54 million iPhones this quarter

Rumor: iPhone 6s has 2GB RAM and Apple SIM

Here are Samsung’s answers to the iPhone 6 and Apple Pay

Samsung just took the stage at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona on Sunday to unveil its answer to the iPhone 6, its new Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge flagships. Succeeding the Galaxy S5, which Samsung had trouble selling, the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge will ship April 10 on all four major US carriers.

Samsung is remaining mum on pricing for either handset, but has revealed specifications for the devices. Both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge feature a 5.1-inch quad HD display, 2.1GHz quad-core processor, Android 5.0 Lollipop, 16-megapixel OIS rear-camera, and 5-megapixel front-camera.

The introduction of both handsets wasn't in the company's typical fashion. Samsung's event at Mobile World Congress wasn't a theatrical affair, instead the South Korea-based company got to the point when it came to ushering in its reinvigorated product line. It was quite refreshing.

Apple reportedly planning Force Touch for 2015 ‘iPhone 6s’ lineup

The 2015 line of iPhones that are expected to launch this fall will feature the Force Touch input that is found on the Apple Watch, according to AppleInsider.

The Apple rumor publication, citing its own sources, says the next-generation handsets are internally codenamed "N71" for the 4.7-inch model and "N66" for the 5.5-inch version. They're said to keep the "iPhone 6s" naming convention like the iPhone 5s, and like with every "S" model release, will retain the same design as the previous version.
