Yelp updated for iPhone 6 screen sizes

Apple's latest and greatest smartphones are more than a month old now, but many popular apps have not yet refreshed to take advantage of the bigger 4.7 and 5.5-inch canvases with more pixels (the price you pay for being an early adopters). Yelp is feeling your pain, too.

Monday, they issued a long awaited update to Yelp's iOS app for crowd-sourced reviews about local businesses.

Yes, it has native display support for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, but that's not all: there's a new Directions button to help take you from A to B in a more efficient manner, by telling you how long it'll take to walk or drive to the business.

The update has rolled and is now live in the App Store.

Argus activity tracker, now with iPhone 6 support and iOS 8 Health sync for workouts and calories

I'm a fitness fan and Azumio's Argus is one of my favorite applications to track my steps, runs and bicycle rides. As I stopped using any health and fitness app which doesn't export data to Apple's Health application in iOS 8, I was pleasantly surprised learning that Azumio just issued a nice Argus refresh which rectifies the problem.

For starters, the new version 3.6 now runs natively on the bigger iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus screens. More importantly, Argus can now export your workouts and calories to the Health app.

Download Argus free in the App Store.

Strong demand in China reportedly forces Apple to boost iPhone 6 Plus production

In case you didn't get a memo, Chinese buyers are especially fond of oversized phones. In fact, for many Asians a jumbo-sized phone isn't just a tablet replacement but their only mobile device.

Counting on the phablet popularity in China, Apple's now found itself in a situation where it needs to increase output of iPhone 6 Plus due to higher than expected demand for the 5.5-inch Apple smartphone in the 1.33 billion people country, Apple's second-largest market by revenue, DigiTimes reported Tuesday.
