I like being professional. Sure, being a blogger doesn't mean my job screams business suit, white dress shirt, and dark blue tie. After all, I'm not rolling down the hallways of an IBM clone factory like my father did before me. But, I love him anyway. Being professional does not require the suit, but it can easily be defined by accessories. No, not a pocket square. I mean your gadget accessories.

For my iPhone 5s, when I am trying to look the part, I opt for the Kouros leather sleeve, because it is simple, streamlined, black, and refined. When it comes to my iPad mini, I also prefer those same characteristics. But, often, the mini is more of my work horse, which should get even better with an A7 processor. I may grab my phone in a meeting to check the calendar or a quick notification about the Virginia Tech Hokies, but iPad is the true go-to for more complex tasks. Keeping things at my fingers, the Booqpad mini by Booq even has a spot for handwritten notes...

Some Apple Stores now carrying non-Retina iPad mini in Space Gray

Alongside the new iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display, Apple announced a small update for the first-gen iPad mini on Tuesday. The (non-Retina) tablet has been given a small price reduction, and a new 'Space Gray' colorway.

And according to a new report, some retail stores have quietly begun stocking these new minis on their shelves—meaning they're now available for purchase. So if you're interested, it might be worth checking your local Apple Store...

Old iPads are hot: 81 percent of North American tablet traffic

On Tuesday, just a few hours ahead of Apple's iPad keynote, new evidence surfaced about how entrenched Apple's device is in the minds of tablet users. Although Apple's tablet has undergone a number of updates, the old iPad 2 remarkably still accounts for the vast majority of U.S. and Canadian web traffic.

That's the word from ad network Chitika, showing iPads are 81 percent of North American tablet-based online traffic. The next closest competitor is the Kindle Fire from Amazon, nipping at Apple's heels with 6.1 percent. This is the second report in as many days showing even the oldest iPads dominate all contenders...

T-Mobile to sell 16GB iPads with no downpayment

Piggy-backing on Tuesday's unveiling of the iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display, the agile T-Mobile USA immediately tweeted out they'll be carrying cellular models with a free 200MB plan. Today, the Deutsche Telekom-owned carrier, the nation's fourth-largest, has shed more light on its iPad strategy.

Your key takeaway: there will be no downpayment for those in the market for a cellular iPad Air or Retina iPad mini variant. Apple drops refurbished iPad mini entry price to $249, iPad 4 to $379

After introducing of the new iPad Air and iPad mini with Retina display yesterday, Apple lowered the prices of its refurbished iPads across the board. The entry-level (first-gen) iPad mini, for example is now just $249.

That's down $30 from where it was before the new iPad announcements, and $50 less than a new one, which Apple dropped down to $299 yesterday. And don't worry, Apple has discounted its full-sized tablets as well...

Now that he's finished up his staggering 'iPad Air' announcement, Apple's Phil Schiller has turned his focus to the smaller iPad mini. It too is getting a big refresh today, with the long-awaited display bump.

As expected, Apple has managed to squeeze its Retina screen in the tiny tablet, giving it the same 2048 x 1536 resolution as its larger sibling. And it's also added its 64-bit A7 processor, and other goodies...

Apple updates Smart Covers and Cases for new iPads

Although there wasn't any mention of the rumored Surface-like keyboard cover at today's iPad event, Apple did announce updates for its current line of cases that will launch alongside the two new tablets.

Both the iPad Air and new iPad mini with Retina display will get a new set of Smart Covers and Smart Cases. The Covers, again, just cover the screen of the iPad, but the Cases offer wraparound protection...

Wow, just when you thought T-Mobile couldn't get any crazier, it goes and does something like this. As CEO John Leger hinted last week, the [un-]carrier has finally landed Apple's iPad, but there's a big twist.

Apparently, T-Mobile will be offering an entry-level data package with 200 MB free of charge alongside the tablet. And of course, higher-limit packages will be available too, starting at $30/month for 2.5 GB...

Apple quickly unveiled the new iPad mini with Retina display today. The event felt like a non event as the company didn't spend much time talking about the new device.
