At the end of last year, we talked about an interesting attempt by hackers to port iPadOS 18 to the iPad (6th generation) – a device that seems to be capable of running the firmware based on substantial similarities to the officially-supported iPad (7th generation), but has simply been left off the table by Apple in an effort to force planned obsolescence on its users.

Video demo shows iPadOS 18.2 with working Bluetooth & Wi-Fi running on unsupported iPad (6th generation)
Earlier this week, we shared a story about how palera1n team developers Nick Chan (@riscv64) and @mineekdev successfully ported iPadOS 18 to the natively unsupported iPad (6th generation). With this feat, it joins the iPad (7th generation) as one of only two checkm8 bootrom exploit-vulnerable devices capable of running Apple’s latest firmware.

No fear, however, as iEGrow has two Bluetooth keyboard cases that offer a lot for a very reasonable price. We go hands-on in this mini review of the iEGrow F8S iPad keyboard case and the F180 iPad keyboard with rotatable cover.
