Hot on the heels of a pair of videos that surfaced earlier this week showcasing purported iPad 5 and second generation iPad mini 2 shells, comes a new clip that goes over both components in extreme detail.

The new video takes a look at the iPad 5's all-new mini-like form factor, and how it compares in size to its predecessor. It also shows differences in the tablets' buttons, ambient light sensors, and much more...

Rumor: Apple to release A7X-based iPad and iPad mini this year, lower-cost A6 mini in 2014

The oft-accurate Apple analyst has spoken again. KGI Securities' Ming-Chi Kuo came down off of his proverbial mountain last night and sent out a letter to investors with some predictions regarding Apple's iPad plans for the end of this year, and the beginning of next.

Kuo, who as we've said before has a solid track record in predicting Apple's product plans, says that he believes we'll see two new tablets from the company this year: a fifth-generation iPad and a second-generation iPad mini. And both of them will have an A7X chipset...

New video compares alleged next-gen iPad mini shell to iPad 5, current mini

We must be getting close to an iPad refresh, because the leaks are becoming more and more prevalent. Hot on the heels of the video that surfaced this morning of an alleged iPad 5 shell, comes a similar clip showcasing a second generation iPad mini.

The clip comes from the same source as the first video, and it claims to show the shell of a next-gen iPad mini along with an iPad 5 shell and current mini for comparison. The two 7.9-inch tablets look very similar, but there's one notable difference...

Alleged iPad 5 casing compared to current model in new video

With Apple's September 10 event now less than a week away, all of the tech world's attention has turned to the next generation iPhones. It's believed that we'll see two of them next week: an updated iPhone 5S, and an all-new budget iPhone 5C.

But let's not forget that these aren't the only new products in Apple's pipeline. The company also has updated iPads in the wings, which are expected to be unveiled in October. And one of them, said to be the iPad 5, was just caught on tape...

Top Apple blogger debunks September iPads, iPhone 5S scratch test and other crazy rumors

Apple's CEO Tim Cook and the company's leadership team must be hating Mark Gurman, the most connected Apple blogger and Time's pick for its 2013 Best 25 Bloggers list. He's leaked much of the iOS 7 redesign ahead of June's revelation and nailed the iPhone 5 features well before its release.

Two weeks ago, Mark was first to acknowledge an iPhone 5S with gold colorway. He's also confirmed fingerprint scanning - the iPhone 5S's killer feature - and said the iPad build of iOS 7 was running behind schedule.

Taking a number of burning issues occupying the collective minds of the Apple rumor-mill community, Gurman has now brought into question a few popular misconception concerning Apple's upcoming product launches that are making rounds today...

Detailed shots picture alleged iPad 5 front panel

Australian blogger Sonny Dickson is quickly becoming the Interweb's favorite component leaker, especially in terms of  unreleased Apple gadgets.

He's back at it again, claiming to have gotten his hands on the front panel for Apple’s upcoming fifth-generation iPad.

Of course, he's bringing with him a bunch of high-quality photographs depicting the alleged part from various angles. The images match up to leaked schematics and show off that purported iPad mini style design with the narrower side bezels.

I've included a few best shots for the sake of discussions, have a look at them right after the break...

Alleged photos of silver iPad 5 shell hit the web

New photos of a rear shell believed to belong to the next generation iPad surfaced late last night. The images appear to show a silver casing, which is consistent with previous reports and leaked parts pointing to a smaller, thinner tablet.

We've seen a number of black/slate shells allegedly belonging to the new iPad on the web over the past several months. In fact, they first popped up all the way back in January. But this is one of the first times we've seen a white/silver shell...

Bloomberg weighs in on upcoming iPads and iPhones

With less than a month until Apple's September 10 iPhone event, Bloomberg has scanned the blogs and talked to its unnamed sources in an effort to dig up some previously unknown "facts" about Apple's upcoming iPhone and iPad refreshes.

Now, stop me if you've heard this before, but much of Bloomberg's reporting centers around a thinner and lighter iPad 5 with iPad mini style design.

Where it gets interesting, however, is a claim that Apple also plans to introduce a Retina iPad mini this year rather than in 2014...

WSJ corroborates iPad mini like design, touchscreen tech for iPad 5

Various sources have been mulling for months that Apple's fifth-generation 9.7-inch iPad will adopt the overall appearance of the iPad mini, including its skinnier side bezels and thinner, lighter enclosure. And as if you ever needed more proof, now the credulous Wall Street Journal is finally out with its own report.

Corroborating the rumor-mill chatter, the story reaffirms the notion that the iPad 5 partially owns its slimmer and lighter form factor to a new touchscreen technology borrowed from its little brother. Read on for the full reveal...

New photos of iPad 5 front panel surface, again show thinner bezels

Back in January of this year, iLounge's Jeremy Horwitz claimed to have seen a physical model of the fifth generation iPad. He said it was "a lot smaller than one would guess was possible" with "virtually no left or right bezels."

Since then, all of the reports and part leaks we've seen have corroborated Horwitz' description. We've seen rear shells of the tablet—more than once—and a few cases, and today we have new pictures of a black front panel...

New videos of alleged iPad 5 and low-cost ‘iPhone 5C’ surface

During Apple's quarterly earnings call last month, Tim Cook said that the company had some "amazing new hardware" coming this fall. It's something he's mention several times over the past few months, and we've seen plenty of evidence to back it up.

Over the past 6 months, we've seen a number of purported part leaks for different rumored and anticipated Apple products. And today, we're adding to the pile. This morning, two new videos hit the web of an alleged iPad 5 and the low-cost 'iPhone 5C'...

Another alleged iPad 5 rear case emerges

By all accounts, a fifth-generation iPad with iPad mini style design and skinnier side bezels should be coming this Fall.

We've already seen suspicious looking images that allegedly depict the device's rear shell, as well as a few front parts.

Courtesy of the tech blog FanaticFone.com, we are now being offered new shots of the purported iPad 5 aluminum rear case which has all the holes in the right places, with closeups suggesting the premium Unibody fit and finish...
