iPhone 4S Jailbreak Progress Report: Testing and Polishing Phase

More updates from the jailbreak world this evening; as if the anticipation could possibly get any higher.

The app that contains the exploits used for the iPhone 4S jailbreak is essentially finished and the final touches are being placed on what we can only assume will be the latest version of GreenPois0n.

Earlier this evening, @planetbeing tweeted that fellow Chronic Dev Team member Nikias Bassen, better known as @pimskeks, has finished the majority of the app that will contain the heavily anticipated iPhone 4S and iPad 2 A5 exploit.

iPhone 4S Jailbreak: “Not Much Longer Now”

Watch Apple’s iBooks Textbooks Video

Apple has posted a promotional video for their recently launched iBooks Textbooks feature, and you can watch it right now.

As you're no-doubt aware of, Apple hosted a media event this morning in NYC to unveil their new education initiative.

We've tried the iBooks Textbooks ourselves, and we liked what we saw. Now you can head over to Apple's website to see a video of their new take on educating the masses via the iPad and iBooks.

iBooks 2 ‘Life on Earth’ Textbook Video Demonstration

We just got the chance to go hands-on with one of the first textbooks to appear in Apple's textbook section of the iBookstore, and we were very impressed by what we saw.

Besides the fact that the book downloads are very hefty in size, making for a pretty lengthy download time over Wi-Fi, the content is great for education. Kids in school are going to learn a lot, and best of all, they're going to enjoy doing so.

Check inside for our hands-on demonstration of E.O. Wilson's Life on Earth — one of Apple's flagship textbooks to demonstrate the power of textbooks on iPad...

Apple Unveils iBooks 2 — A Brand New Textbook Experience for the iPad

Apple's ongoing Education media event located at NYC's Guggenheim Museum is all about learning, and facing the challenges in the field of education today.

Apple unveiled some slides that paint a pretty startling picture about the state of the United States’ educational system when compared to other places in the world, citing overflowing class sizes and lack of enough textbooks, among other dire problems.

With all of this in mind, Apple is trying to help — and it's no surprise that the iPad is at the center of two initiatives — one of them is to reinvent textbooks. iBooks 2 is at the center of the reinvention process...

iPads Being Switched for Clay at Some Canadian Retail Outlets

As is the case with any desirable piece of technology, the iPad has been the unfortunate subject of more than a few scams in its time, and a new one has come to light in Canada recently.

According to reports, some unlucky buyers have picked up new iPad 2 units from some Best Buy, Future Shop, Walmart and London Drugs stores only to find that the boxes do not actually contain iPads as expected, but rather a giant grey slab of modelling clay.

It's not even a nice color...

Well, planetbeing, who is a member of the so-called dream team of hackers working on the A5 jailbreak, just tweeted a photo of IntelliScreenX running on his iPad 2 (shown above)...

Reminder: Jailbreakers Should Update to iOS 5.0.1 Before It’s Too Late

We already warned you, but it might be the right time to remind you again that iPhone 4S and iPad 2 owners should update to iOS 5.0.1 asap, should they want to be able to jailbreak, when that A5 jailbreak is released.

According to recent reports, the Corona exploit has been patched in iOS 5.1. This means the upcoming jailbreak will probably work on iOS 5.0.1 only, and if Apple released iOS 5.1 before the jailbreak is released, then you might get out of luck and unable to jailbreak. BigBoss explains:

pod2g Says A5 Jailbreak is Just a Matter of Days Away

If you haven't figured it out by now, this whole A5 jailbreak thing is kind of a big deal. The entire jailbreak community has its eyes on pod2g and the rest of the "Dream Team" as they finish up their work on the highly anticipated exploit.

iPhone 4S users are now going on three months without a jailbreak, and iPad 2 owners who upgraded to iOS 5 last summer are going on 7. But it looks like we won't have to wait much longer, as pod2g says the A5 jailbreak is just days away...
