ConfirmRotate prevents accidental display rotations, especially in bed

I often take the fact that I can rotate my iPhone’s screen between portrait and landscape orientation for granted when I’m watching videos. But there’s no disputing the fact that iOS’ auto-rotation feature can be just as annoying as it is handy, and this is why Apple provides a toggle in Control Center for turning auto-rotation on or off on demand.

While it’s nice to have the ability to toggle auto-rotation on or off on demand, that very process can be just as cumbersome as dealing with accidental auto-rotations. With that in mind, we believe that a newly released jailbreak tweak called ConfirmRotate by iOS developer CardboardFace meets us all halfway by providing the functionality we truly want.

Prysm redefines what you’ve come to expect from Control Center

Control Center is one of the interfaces I use the most often on my iPhone, and while I applaud Apple for having an all-in-one command center for toggles and shortcuts, that doesn’t stop me from thinking that the design is beginning to look stale and that it’s a bit light on features.

A new jailbreak tweak called Prysm designed by thetimeloop and brought to life by iOS developer LaughingQuoll aims to resolve some of these gripes by giving Control Center a complete aesthetic overhaul and adding useful features to the interface while maintaining compatibility with other Control Center-centric add-ons for jailbroken handsets.

Hacker Jake James gets time_waste tfp0 exploit working on iOS 12

It was only yesterday that talented hacker and iOS exploit tinkerer Jake James released time_waste, a reworked version of Brandon Azad’s oob_timestamp tfp0 exploit. Time_waste solves many of the memory leak issues that were present in the oob_timestamp exploit, and given the apparent enhancements, it’s not difficult to see why Pwn20wnd switched to using James’ exploit for the unc0ver jailbreak instead.

But while the aforementioned advantages are obvious, that didn’t stop James from taking things a step further. Just this afternoon, James announced via Twitter that he had managed to get the time_waste tfp0 exploit working on iOS 12; moreover, it even seems to play nicely with A8X-equipped devices:

Hot off the heels of an updated unc0ver jailbreak with support for iOS 13.0-13.3 on A12(X)-A13 devices, it is now possible to jailbreak the bulk of all iPhones or iPads in circulation with either checkra1n or unc0ver. The only exception would be A12 or newer devices running iOS 13.3.1.

Diatrus to release a Cydia fork for checkra1n & unc0ver that works with Sileo

It was only a couple of days ago that the Sileo Team released a brand-new Sileo package manager installer for the checkra1n jailbreak. The updated installer, created with the help of prominent Sileo porter Diatrus, leaves most of checkra1n’s bootstrap components intact. On the other hand, the installer still upgrades APT to a version that is incompatible with the pre-installed Cydia package manager, thus uninstalling it in the process.

If you were hoping that you could finally use Sileo on your checkra1n device without having to uninstall Cydia, then the Sileo Team’s updated installer probably left you disappointed. Fortunately, Diatrus seems to be working on a solution that could answer the community’s cries to have both package managers present on the same checkra1n or unc0ver device.

Sileo v1.7.1 officially released for Chimera and checkra1n jailbreak users

The Sileo Team took to Twitter late Wednesday evening to share that it had released an updated version of the Sileo package manager dubbed v1.7.1 with various improvements, but that wasn’t all. The Tweet also noted that the new Sileo build was available for both Chimera and checkra1n jailbreak users.

The Sileo Team attempted a checkra1n port for its Sileo package manager just before the new year, and despite a flaky initial release that quickly crashed and burned, it now seems that the Sileo Team is making a second attempt – this time with some help from Diatrus, a name that might sound familiar if you’ve ever used an unofficial Sileo port before.
