This tweak automatically hides the Home Bar when it isn’t needed

Newer iPhone and iPad Pro models have ditched the traditional Home Button in favor of an edge-to-edge display that sports a software-based Home Bar instead. The Home Bar can be used for unlocking, returning to the Home Screen, toggling Reachability, and switching between apps, but many would argue that it doesn’t always need to be visible.

For those looking for a solution to this quandary, a new and free jailbreak tweak called AutoHideHomeBarX by iOS developer Asterix can automatically hide the Home Bar when it isn’t needed and cause it to reappear again when it is.

Just last week, we showed you a jailbreak tweak that could generate a QR code for quickly and easily sharing your iPhone’s Personal Hotspot with another user, whether they were using iOS or another mobile operating system such as Android.

But now, a similar QR code-based jailbreak tweak called WiFiQR by iOS developer KingPuffDaddi has been released for sharing your currently-connected Wi-Fi network with others using comparable means to the tweak we showed you last week.

iOS’ notification system is long overdue for a visual overhaul, and it remains to be seen if Apple is working on any sort of first-party solution to this popular grievance among iOS device users.

Fortunately for jailbreakers, a newly released jailbreak tweak called Grupi by iOS developers Soongyu Kwon and Timeloop spearheads an effort to make iOS’ notification experience a whole lot better without needing to wait for an official solution from Apple.

In the absence of any updates to Saurik’s jailbreak-centric Cydia Impactor tool since it stopped working several months ago, Chimera, Electra, and unc0ver jailbreak users have faced frustrating times. Luckily, a working alternative called AltDeploy made its first public debut a few days ago.

Just this weekend, AltDeploy received its second official update since being released. The latest update brings the young side-loading utility up to version 1.1 and incorporates both bug fixes and improvements that help make the app better for end users.

Cydia Impactor alternative ‘AltDeploy’ officially released for side-loading apps

Those using the side-loadable Chimera and unc0ver jailbreak apps have experienced quite a rough patch these past couple of months given Cydia Impactor’s current broken state and the scarcity of reliable signing services that don’t get their certificates revoked shortly after going online. These issues have made it unusually challenging to get the jailbreak(s) running again after the host device endures a power cycle.

Saurik hinted in November that he would be looking into ways to fix Cydia Impactor, but we’ve since passed the expected ETA for such an update, prompting members of our very own jailbreak community to take action themselves. The newfangled efforts have resulted in a Cydia Impactor alternative for macOS called AltDeploy by @pixelomer.

Electra Team ending support for the iOS 11-based Electra jailbreak

An announcement shared by Electra Team lead developer CoolStar on the team’s official Discord discussion group Saturday afternoon disclosed some unfortunate news for those using the iOS 11-centric Electra jailbreak tool.

From what we can gather, Electra has officially reached the EOL (end of life) stage of its development and will no longer receive any support from the Electra Team going forward:

LetMeDecline makes it easier to decline calls when your iPhone is locked

When you receive a phone call from your locked iPhone, iOS automatically directs you to a ‘slide to answer’ interface with no obvious way of dismissing the phone call. You can press the side button a couple of times to dismiss the call, but not everyone knows this, and it this seems like a user interface shortcoming on Apple’s part.

Given the circumstances described above, we’re especially pleased to see the release of a new jailbreak tweak called LetMeDecline by iOS developer P2Kdev. As depicted in the before and after screenshot examples above, this tweak replaces the ‘slide to answer’ bar with dedicated Decline and Answer buttons, making it easier to get the annoying full-screen incoming call interface out of your way.

Unc0ver jailbreak picks up support for iOS 12.4.1 in latest public beta

Pwn20wnd updated the unc0ver jailbreak tool at the start of last week with seemingly negligible bug fixes and improvements, but as it would seem, the hacker didn’t stop there.

We learned from an announcement via Twitter late Sunday morning that Pwn20wnd had been working on iOS 12.4.1 support on devices as new as A12, but a shortage of beta testers due to the Cydia Impactor problem inevitably delayed a public beta launch in the past week. Fortunately, that update finally appears to be ready to public testing:
