Judge Denies Samsung’s Request to Ban iPhone 4S in Italy

Here we go again. In the pissing contest legal battle that has now been going on for months between Samsung and Apple, an Italian judge has once again decided to side with Apple.

According to Italian news website AGI, a judge denied Samsung's request to ban the iPhone 4S in Italy. While the judge turned down Samsung's request, she did ask both companies to provide further evidence, which will be reviewed later in December...

China Mobile Has 10 Million Unofficial iPhone Users

Despite the fact that China Mobile doesn't have an agreement with Apple to sell the iPhone, its network counts 10 million iPhones users, as the company reported this morning via Reuters.

With 630 million customers, those 10 million iPhone users are just a drop in the bucket. But they do tell a lot about how much China wants the iPhone...

iPhone Pre-Orders Go Live for 22 More Countries Today

When Apple initially launched the iPhone 4S last week, the handset was only available in 7 countries. Apple typically does this with its major product rollouts to help guard against stock constraints and to minimize the impact of early issues that may arise.

Well after a week of selling the iPhone 4S, it seems like Apple is confident that the product is ready for prime time. Next week, the company's latest handset will go on sale in 22 more countries around the globe. And apparently, pre-orders have just begun...

Facebook Messenger Now Available Everywhere

Facebook Messenger has quickly become one of my favorite apps for the iPhone. Before Apple released iOS 5 and iMessage to the public, Facebook Messenger was my client of choice to communicate with my friends scattered around the world.

The problem was that most of my friends overseas couldn't use the application. It seems that this is not an issue anymore, as Facebook has brought support for 12 additional languages, and is releasing the app in many more countries...

iTunes in the Cloud Launching Internationally Right Now

Back when Apple first announced iCloud, and the subsequent beta, one of the new features to make the biggest splash was iTunes in the Cloud. Up until that point, if an iTunes customer bought a song and deleted it they were stuck with no option but to either call Apple support and try to sweet talk them into issuing a refund or replacement track, or to simply stump up the cash all over again.

With iTunes in the Cloud, that was no-longer the case.  Now, a new Purchased section in iTunes lists all bought music as well as apps and books, and the world is a better place for it.

Unfortunately, while books and apps found their way outside the US, music did not. Until now...

Travelers Will Want to Consider the iPhone 4S on Verizon or Sprint [Updated]

We already knew that the iPhone 4S was going to be the first world phone to come out of the Apple labs, and that meant that both GSM and CDMA handset flavors would roam on the networks of international carriers. This was good news, meaning that customers of both Verizon and Sprint could now take their handsets abroad and continue to use them.

Now, there's even better news for those customers, with Macworld discovering that they might actually have an advantage over AT&T (and all other GSM carriers across the planet), thanks to the unlocked SIM slot on the CDMA iPhone 4S...

First iPhone 4S Deliveries Make Their Way to Germany

The first iPhone 4S pre-order shipments seem to be arriving for the lucky few around the world. Certain customers in Germany has been delivered an iPhone 4S already.

International iPhone 4S Shipping Estimates Already Pushed Back 1-2 Weeks

While iPhone 4S pre-orders in the US seem to be working just fine, international demand for the 4S has caused Apple to push back the shipping estimate for the 4S to 1-2 weeks. Instead of the assured delivery date on October 14th that Apple originally promised, shipping estimates for the 4S have slipped to a more uncertain delivery date for international customers.

Apple stores in countries like Canada, the UK, France, Germany, and Australia have all had shipping dates pushed back already. The iPhone 4S became available for pre-order after 12AM this morning...

iPhone 4S Shows Up in Vodafone Germany Listings with 16GB, 32GB, 64GB Capacities

It's already been rumored that the iPhone 4S will come in a 64GB flavor, and now mobile carrier Vodafone Germany is listing the iPhone '4S' in three different capacities on its website.

Carriers have been known to create placeholders for unreleased Apple products, with some carriers even offering preorders for the fifth generation iPhone before it is announced. In the case of this Vodafone listing, the iPhone 4S is listed for the first time instead of the 'iPhone 5' placeholder that we've seen before. The storage options line up with rumors as well...

“The Daily” iPad Newspaper Only Has 120,000 Readers

Poor old Rupert Murdoch really isn't having the best of times is he? First there was the whole phone hacking debacle that is still rumbling along in the UK, then the same accusations found their way across the pond to the United States, and now it appears his pet project is a dysmal failure.

That pet project is, of course, The Daily — an iPad-only publication aimed at bringing news into the 21st century. The problem is, nobody is reading it...

Unless they happen to be in the UK, that is...
