Banners Appear on Apple.com for Black Friday Sales

If you haven't quite finished your holiday shopping yet, you'll be happy to know that Apple has announced that it will be hosting a Black Friday sale this week. "Black Friday" is the Friday after Thanksgiving and is generally the busiest shopping day of the year.

On this day, retailers offer substantial discounts on their products to attract customers into their stores. Apple participated in the festivities last year by knocking up to $100 off its Macs and iOS devices, and it looks like its gearing up for another sale this year...

Apple Claims it Could Lose $2.7 Billion in Motorola Lawsuit

Earlier this month, a German court awarded Motorola Mobility a temporary injunction against Apple for infringing on its intellectual property. An injunction, in this sense, can prevent a company from selling its products in the area in which it's granted.

But the decision was made against Apple Inc., which doesn't actually sell products in Germany. Motorola also filed a lawsuit against Apple Germany. And the outcome of this case could cost the company some serious financial losses...

Chinese Environmental Leaders Praise Apple For Its Efforts

For several years Apple was criticized for its lack of effort to make its company and its products more eco-friendly. Steve Jobs himself felt the need to write an 1,800 word post on Apple's website regarding the topic.

But Apple has come a long way since then. It's now one of the greenest electronics companies on the planet. And that's a difficult task, considering it has to police dozens of overseas suppliers that help make its products...

“No Bloatware” Policy Could Cost Japan’s Largest Carrier the iPhone

While most carriers jump at the chance to offer Apple's popular smartphone, others aren't so keen on the device's accompanying terms. An iPhone partnership usually means large, long-term commitments and other compromises that some operators just won't make.

Even Apple's infamous "no bloatware" policy can be enough to keep a company from carrying the device. And according to The Wall Street Journal, that seems to be what's stifling the negotiations between Apple and NTT DoCoMo, the largest carrier in Japan...

The iPhone 4S has been called the most successful product launch ever for many carriers, with lines continuing to form around the world for the new handset. Will Apple be able to meet demand?
