Next iPod Touch to Come in White?

Photos leaked to 9to5Mac point to Apple bringing a spot of white to its next gen iPod touch, with the 5th generation of the popular 'iPhone-lite' set to receive the same white glass as the iconic iPhone 4.

The photos, which 9to5Mac says are not yet confirmed to be either legit or, well, not so legit, show what appears to be a white iPod touch's front screen.

The part appears to be similar in design to the current 4th generation model of the iPod touch, lending credence to rumors that the next incarnation of the device will sport a design not too dissimilar from its current form....

PanAmp Offers a New Way to Play Music in iOS

One of the slight blotches on the iOS report card is the platform's less than inspiring iPod app. Yes it's functional, and yes its user interface won't make you want to poke your own eyes out with a cocktail stick, but it's just not very exciting.

Past the app's lack of excitement, it's lacking such simple features. If only there was an app that we could use to replace the boring iPod app on our iPhones. Something a little more interesting. As of July 14th, there will be, with PanAmp due to be released into the vast ocean that is the App Store, and we think it's going to be a bit of a hit...

Apple Forced to Pay Personal Audio $8 Million Over iPod Patent

Apple is no stranger to the courtroom these days; with patents, copyright claims, and counterclaims becoming as closely related to the Cupertino outfit as its iconic iPods.

Ironically, though, it seems that those very same iPods have landed Apple in trouble this time around, with the company being forced to stump up $8 million to a company that claims the iPod infringes on its patents...

Breaking: Photos of iCloud in iOS 5 Music App

We just can't seem to control ourselves. More and more screenshots of iOS 5 keep coming in, and we thought this one was worth sharing.

We've already heard plenty about how iCloud will be heavily integrated into iOS 5, and specifically with iTunes. In the iOS 5 iPod app, purchased songs are available for download from the iCloud servers.

More screenshots after the break!

iOS 5 iPod App is Now Called “Music”, Gets a New Icon

Another little detail that emerged from what we've seen of iOS 5 so far is that the iPod app is now gone and has been renamed/replaced by the "Music" app.

This is the same icon that you could find on the iPod Touch before. It seems that the iPod is now gone, and replaced by the Music app across all iOS devices. Yay for consitency!

How to Override In-App Audio and Listen to Your own Music

I've always wanted a way to listen to my music from the iPod app while I play games on my iPhone. Until multitasking came to iOS, that was just a pipe dream. Yet, even after Apple introduced multitasking, I still didn't really have the ability.

Many iOS games have their own soundtrack and completely turn off your iPod music. Luckily, the folks over at FSM have provided an easy tutorial for a work-around that will allow you to rock your own music while gaming on your iDevice...

ConnectedDrive Brings Your iPhone and Car Closer Than Ever Before

Many car makers have been looking at integrating smartphones with their latest vehicle models. Just look at the mobile application for the Chevy Volt. The app allows you to unlock and start your car via your smartphone.

Other companies, like BMW, are trying to push the integration even further. While cars have offered iPod interfaces and hands-free systems for quite some time now, they've never compared to what the german car maker has been working on with their ConnectedDrive...

Iconic iPod Click Wheel Comes to the iPhone with iClassic

With all of Apple's touch devices these days, do you ever miss the classic iPods? Sure they didn't have as cool of games or shoot HD video, but there was definitely something sexy about that click wheel. It was responsive and made browsing your music collection faster than ever before.

If you are looking for a way to kind of relive the good old days, check out iClassic. The Cydia application for jailbroken iDevices will allow you to bring back the click wheel, on your current touch screen device. But can an application truly capture the experience of the click wheel?

More Evidence Points to September Launch of iPhone 5

Following yesterday's report from Avian Securities regarding the release of the iPhone 5, a new report from Digital Daily seems to lend more credence to the previous rumors.

According to a Digital Daily report, Apple is planning to unveil the next-generation iPhone 5 at its annual September media event that usually focuses on the iPod.

Apple’s “If You Don’t Have an iPhone” Ads Highlight App Store, iTunes, and iBooks

Apple has released some new ads that focus on the three main e-commerce stores for the iPhone. These short, 30 second promos focus on the App Store, iTunes, and iBooks.

The main focus of these three ads is to show what people who don't have the iPhone are missing. The "If you don't have an iPhone" tag line plays throughout the ad as different features of each store are pointed out. Each ad ends with a little jab: "If you don’t have an iPhone, well, you don’t have an iPhone."

What do you think? The ads clearly get the intended message across. Perhaps a little too boldly? Apple sure knows how to make a poignant little commercial.

Make Your iPhone’s iPod Look Just Like Windows Phone 7 with Muzik

Awhile back, we showed you a jailbreak theme called "OS7" that replicated Windows Phone 7's interface on the iPhone. Some of you installed the theme and played around with it. The theme's attention to detail and resemblance to Windows Phone 7 was striking.

An app called Muzik, by Dr. Wilson Gaming, allows you to play your iPod music in the style of Windows Phone 7 and the Zune. Muzik recently received some major updates to make it a more formidable clone of the Zune experience.

If, for some reason, you want the ability to replicate the Zune interface on your iPhone, Muzik is about as good as it gets.
