CoolStar Tweets download link for Odyssey jailbreak public beta

Odyssey jailbreak for iOS 13.

Ever since the unc0ver team issued a DMCA take down request for the Odyssey jailbreak GitHub page, many avid jailbreakers have been waiting for the smoke to clear. At this time, the investigation is still pending, and no official verdict has been declared. Odyssey lead developer CoolStar did, however, respond to the DMCA take down with an appeal. Now we wait to see what happens...

In the meantime, those avidly waiting for the Odyssey jailbreak to launch have been forced to wait longer than expected to download and use the tool. CoolStar’s most recently ETA for release is ‘whenever GitHub restores the repository,’ but things took an interesting turn early Sunday morning when CoolStar Tweeted a link encompassing what appears to be a beta pre-release version of the Odyssey jailbreak tool:

Odyssey jailbreak GitHub slapped with DMCA claim ahead of release

Jailbreakers who’ve been paying close attention to Twitter and /r/jailbreak over the past couple of days likely witnessed the creation of the official Odyssey Twitter account and a plethora of teasers showcasing the Electra Team’s upcoming iOS 13-centric jailbreak tool in action. As it would seem, however, the energized release is a far cry from being a drama-free one.

Odyssey jailbreak co-developer Hayden Seay, also known by many in this community as Diatrus, took to Twitter Tuesday evening to share that unc0ver lead developer Pwn20wnd had filed a DMCA takedown request targeting the Electra Team’s upcoming Odyssey jailbreak.

Zebra v1.1.9 released to fix frustrating error message on latest unc0ver

If you excitedly jailbroke iOS 13.5 yesterday using the new unc0ver v5.0.0 jailbreak and then went to install the Zebra package manager as an alternative to the preinstalled Cydia package manager, then you probably found yourself plagued with error messages claiming “Operation Not Permitted” before your very eyes.

At the time, the official unc0ver.dev website displayed a progress bar with the text “Performing Final Stability Tests 90%,” but things seem to be moving right along. The progress bar has now surpassed 95%, and several high-profile Tweets now indicate that unc0ver v5.0.0 will be released this weekend, sometime within the next 24 hours.

Another kernel-level jailbreak detection bypass released, better than the last?

Matrix code hacked iPhone.

It was only a few days ago that a kernel-level jailbreak detection bypass had been released to the general public. Dubbed FlyJB by @XsF1re, the project was quickly taken down after the developer lost confidence in his work. But much of his efforts remained open source, permitting future projects to draw inspiration from it.

Now, a second kernel-level jailbreak detection bypass called KernBypass by has been released, this time by Twitter user @akusio_RR.  The project credits @XsF1re for vnodebypass, hacker Jake James for jelbrekLib, and @0x7ff for maphys. But what does all this mean?

Sileo Team releases open source Sileo v2.0.0 alpha 1 for testing

At the start of the week, the Sileo Team turned a new leaf that resonated positively with the jailbreak community when it said that most of the first alpha iteration of Sileo v2.0.0 had been published to GitHub as open source software. But since then, the team has been particularly tight-lipped about when it would be pushed to the default repositories for hands-on testing.

Fortunately, that’s no longer a mystery. In an announcement shared via Twitter Friday evening, the Sileo Team said that Sileo v2.0.0 alpha 1 could now be installed from the Electra and Chimera repositories on their respective jailbreaks:
