Cut the Rope 2 goes free as Apple’s App of the Week

Apple on Thursday named ZeptoLab's Cut the Rope 2 its App of the Week. This means that from now through next Thursday, you'll be able to pick up the popular physics-based puzzler for free for both iPhone and iPad—a small but notable savings of a buck.

For those who aren't familiar with Cut the Rope, it's a cross-platform gaming franchise that revolves around feeding candy to a little green creature named Om Nom. Version 2 features new locations to explore, new characters, and fresh gameplay elements.

Monument Valley is now available for free

For the first time in its history, well-respected iOS game Monument Valley is available as a free download on the App Store. The beautifully designed puzzle/platformer has been the recipient of many awards and accolades since its debut, including a prestigious Apple Design Award.

As such, the popular title, downloaded over a million times already thus far, has generally commanded a more than fair price of $3.99.

There's currently no indication as to how long the game will remain on sale. With that in mind, we highly advise you to scurry on over to the App Store and claim this game.

Puzzle platformer To-Fu Fury is Apple’s new Free App of the Week

To-Fu Fury from Amazon Game Studios, regularly $1.99, is available at no charge until next Thursday as Apple's new Free App of the Week via the App Store's weekly promotion.

Released in July 2015, this puzzle platformer challenges you to save the Fortune Kitty playing as To-Fu, a stretchy, sticky, flingy and combative cube of bean-curd. Expect a lot of puzzle solving and physics-based action in this game.

Verizon offering More Everything customers 2GB of free data to try out GO90 app

Heads up Verizon Wireless customers, the carrier is currently offering a limited-time promotion that awards free data to those on its More Everything plan. The promo is good for an extra 2GB for three months, and all you have to do to take advantage of it is download Verizon's GO90 app.

So for those of you on one of the aforementioned plans, grab GO90 from the App Store here or the Google Play Store here. Once it's downloaded, you should receive a text message from Verizon telling you that the free data has been activated on your account, along with an expiration date.

Stackables photo app goes free as Apple’s App of the Week

Apple on Thursday updated the App Store with a new App of the Week: Stackables for iPhone and iPad. This means that from now through next Thursday, you can pick up the popular photo editor for free—a solid savings of $6.

Stackables is a beautifully-designed effects and layering app. It's packed with over 200 effects expertly crafted by by renowned photographer Dirk Wuestenhagen including textures, light leaks, analog film filters, grain and more.

PDF Expert 5, normally a $9.99 app, is Apple’s Free App of the Week

If you wish to read and annotate PDFs on the iPad, then there is perhaps no better app to do so with than PDF Expert 5. The latest in the long standing series of PDF annotation tools from developer Readdle, PDF Expert 5 is a well-respected app that normally commands a $9.99 purchase price.

If you've yet to purchase PDF Expert 5, then I have some good news for you: For the next week, the app is available as a free download from the App Store as a part of Apple's Free App of the Week promotion.

Rayman Fiesta Run for iPhone and iPad slashed to $0 in Apple’s Free App of the Week promo

Since its November 2013 debut, Ubisoft's Rayman Fiesta Run has only gone free briefly through an in-app promotion within the Expedia app.

That's why Apple's editorial team has decided it was high time to permit everyone to download this game to their devices at no charge, so they've made Rayman Fiesta Run free until next Thursday.

This marks the first time the fast-paced platformer has been slashed to zero bucks in the App Store. Taking cues from Rayman Jungle Run, Rayman Fiesta Run has you jumping, flying, punching, running up the walls and more in the wacky new Fiesta world.

EDGE Extended is free for a limited time

Remember Edge, a puzzle game developed by Mobigame? Originally released in the App Store in December 2008, it was one of the best looking, most addictive and innovative games available on the iPhone at the time.

The highly popular title was followed by the official sequel, called Edge Extended, which made its App Store debut in August 2011. Edge Extended has gone free briefly just once since its inception and now Mobigame has discounted the game to zero bucks for a limited time to celebrate the launch of the new Apple TV.

For those who haven't played it, rop is described as a mind-bending, minimal puzzler with nearly 200 beautiful levels. In each of those levels, you must rearrange the different pieces of rope on a hexagonal grid to match the shape that you are given.
