Apple announced a new 9.7-inch iPad Pro to join its existing lineup of tablets. It comes with some interesting new features and some hardware bumps, and some excellent new configurations.

Powered by an A9X chip and sporting new display technologies like the True Tone display, a powerful 12 megapixel iSight camera with 4K video recording, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro makes for a wonderful portable workstation no matter the conditions where you're using the tablet.

If you're interested in picking one up, then obviously you'll need to know when they're available and what they're going to cost you.

Apple drops Apple Watch price to $299 as it introduces new bands

Apple took the stage on Monday at the 'Let us loop you in' event to discuss some new Apple statistics and services, but it was soon followed by new information regarding the Apple Watch.

Along with a notable price drop, Apple Watch users are getting access to new Apple Watch bands with not only new materials, but even some new colors for existing wrist bands.

Tim Cook on Monday kicked off Apple's long-awaited March media event with his usual introduction. The CEO's first announcement was that Apple now has 1 billion devices being using around the globe, and then as expected, he took a moment to briefly talk about the company's ongoing fight with the FBI over encryption.

Cook thanked everyone for their support of Apple in what he believes is one of the biggest privacy battles of our generation. He then brought up Apple's VP of Environment, Policy and Social Initiatives, Lisa Jackson, to talk about Apple's progress in reducing its environmental impact. As you know, Apple has scheduled a media event on its Cupertino campus on this coming Monday, March 21. Earlier this month, the company sent out its predictably cryptic invites with the “Let us loop you in” tagline to select members of the press.

It looks to be a pretty significant event.

On top of an all-new four-inch iPhone model, we're expecting other announcements like a smaller 9.7-inch iPad Pro, new Apple Watch bands—including a black edition of the Milanese Loop—and a bunch of enhancements for Apple's operating systems.

On Thursday, March 10, Apple sent invitations for their media event, "Let us loop you in," to be held on Monday, March 21. The event is said to reveal a completely new handset, dubbed the iPhone SE. In addition, a refresh of the iPad Air is expected to bring the device more in-line with iPad Pro. Finally, there is a potential for new Apple Watch accessories, specifically bands, and updates to the operating systems for OS X, iOS, and Watch OS.

The invitation, which always includes an image, will no doubt send the blogosphere reeling with guesses about hidden images that are allegedly included. Following weeks of speculation, Apple on Thursday sent out invites for a media event later this month that should serve as a launchpad for new iPhone and iPad models, Apple Watch bands and possibly more.

The press event will be held at Apple's Cupertino campus on Monday, March 21, 2016, at 10:00am PT, and will be live-streamed using HTTP Live Streaming.

iPad Air 3 will be a smaller iPad Pro with Smart Keyboard, Pencil support

The rumored iPad Air 3 will actually bear iPad Pro branding when it lands next month, reports 9to5Mac. Citing sources familiar with the matter, the site claims that Apple plans to carry its MacBook Pro strategy over to its Pro tablet line.

"Much like the MacBook Pro comes in 13-inch and 15-inch sizes, the iPad Pro will soon come in 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch variations." The move makes sense, considering that the new iPad is expected to feature most of the Pro's internals.

Apple Watch to gain new bands in March, new hardware in September

Apple is planning to announce new Apple Watch models in March, reports 9to5Mac. But the refresh will be in line with what we saw in September of last year, in that we may see new bands made out of new materials, and new brand partnerships, but no new hardware.

Instead, the outlet claims Apple is going to wait until September to show off its second-generation Watch. This contradicts recent rumors that the new wearable is going to be ready for production this month, but it does lines up with this last week report from TechCrunch.

New report claims we may not see Apple Watch 2 in March

Don't get your hopes up for new Apple Watch hardware in March, reports TechCrunch. Citing several sources with knowledge of the company's plans, the outlet said on Friday that it believes the oft-rumored March unveiling is a bit too soon for Watch 2.0.

The scoop goes directly against a recent report that the second-gen Apple Watch is set to begin production later this month. It also contradicts a December report from the reliable 9to5Mac, which said that Apple had been planning a Watch event for March.
