‘Harbor’ brings an OS X-inspired dock to the iPhone

Imagine having 30+ app icons in your iPhone dock, and being able to view them all at the same time and easily launch them all with no issues. This is what life is like while using Harbor—a new jailbreak tweak that brings one of the best OS X-inspired dock experiences that I've seen thus far on jailbroken iPhones.

How to add a round dock to the iPhone’s Home screen

Interested in rounding off the look of your iPhone's dock? If so, there's a new jailbreak tweak that you should check out, which is aptly entitled RoundDock. RoundDock is a brand new jailbreak tweak available on the BigBoss repo that will round the corners of your Home screen dock at the bottom of the SpringBoard.

Twelve South launches Deluxe edition of HiRise stand for latest iPhones and iPads with gold finish

Premium accessory vendor Twelve South today took the wraps off a Deluxe edition of its famed iPhone and iPad dock for charging and hands-free use.

The high-end HiRise Deluxe versatile stand ships with color-matched 'Made for iPhone' Lightning and micro-USB cables to charge iPads and iPhones.

The stand can dock your devices in battery cases, such as the Mophie Juice Pack, thanks to its height-adjustable clips, with one-handed adjustment for cases. The HiRise Deluxe is available in three color options, including an all-new gold finish to complement your gold iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPad Air 2 or iPad mini 3.

Remove the dock on your iPhone’s Home screen with Abeo

One of the useful features of iOS is definitely the dock, where you can place your four favorite apps to access them quickly, no matter which page of the Home screen you're on. If you ever wished to get rid of the dock, you should definitely check out a solid new tweak called Abeo.

The tweak has just one purpose and it does it nicely. With Abeo, you'll have the ability to hide the dock on your iPhone's Home screen leaving space for other icons to fill in. The tweak doesn't add a new row of icons, but rather increases the spacing between adjacent rows of icons to accommodate the empty space.

Twelve South’s HoverBar 3 expands compatibility to work with any iPad

Way back in September of 2012, I wrote a fairly lengthy review of the HoverBar by Twelve South. The device is a mounting mechanism for iPad. It is not a new contender to the mountable space, certainly not two years later, but it is a well designed product. Twelve South, a South Carolina based company, limits their product development to a low number each year, ensuring proper care is spent on each device they launch.

The HoverBar 3 is an intentional upgrade on the previous generation. The 22" arm extends from a bi-directional assembly that screws into a metal clamp. Overall, the design and assembly is almost exactly the same. Where the new generation differs is the compatibility for iPad 2nd - 4th generation, iPad Air, and both versions of iPad mini.

StatusDuck moves your Mac dock to the Menu bar

The dock in OS X is one of the most used areas of the operating system, so replacing it with another program isn't an easy task. However, StatusDuck does an excellent job of compacting the dock into a much smaller collection of running applications. Whether the dock takes up too much precious screen real estate or right-clicking to exit programs is growing tedious, StatusDuck can help.

With StatusDuck installed, applications can be launched and terminated, Finder windows and folders can be opened, and active programs can be sorted and managed, all from your Mac's menu bar...

The Magnus Mini iPad stand is a minimalist obsession

Ten One Design is mostly known for the Pogo Stylus, which comes in multiple designs. Bumping into the team at CES, I was able to get a glance at the Magnus Mini, their new iPad mini stand. It is one of the most simplistically designed iPad stands I have ever used. With just a small base and a minimal lip, iPad is held at a perfect angle to remain standing with as little effort as possible.

In comparison to other much more complicated docks or stands, the Magnus Mini is a welcomed change to the otherwise overly dramatic iPad dock arena...

Kenu Airframe is the perfect dashboard companion for your iPhone

Keeping iPhone within arm's reach while driving is not only convenient, but also a matter of life and death. Every day, people wreck their vehicles fumbling around for their smartphone while driving. There are many mounts on the market, offering easy access to a smart device. However, I would argue Kenu's Airframe is chart topping.

When designing a car mount, there are a few factors that must be considered: where is it going; how will it attach; what will it hold; is it portable. While portability is not the most important, the Airframe will easily detach and run with you to the next step. Airframe is a great solution in a small package...

DockWare: access the iOS dock from anywhere

DockWare is a brand new jailbreak tweak that brings an interesting idea to the table: it lets you access your iOS dock from anywhere, even while within apps. DockWare uses Activator gestures to accomplish this feat, allowing you to both display and hide the iOS dock while on the Home screen or while within apps.

We've taken DockWare for a spin on video in order to show you how it works in action. It's an interesting tweak, but at $1.99 on Cydia's BigBoss repo, it probably won't be for everyone. Have a look at our video walkthrough inside to see what we mean.

Just Mobile AluBolt cradles iPhone and iPad mini

Docks are my favorite iPhone and iPad accessory. I am not exactly sure what about them is enticing, but having my iOS devices propped elegantly at my workstation has been alluring since I first purchased an iPhone. Apple's products are not just devices for productivity. Apple's products are works of carefully crafted art.

In that nature, I would rather prop them up as a showcase. You wouldn't buy a $600 piece of art and let it lay aimlessly around your home. You would place it prominently, making sure others can tell you have great taste. You own an iPhone, right? Apply the same concept...
