Four-inch iPhone concept gets mocked up

Earlier today we shared an interesting theory with you regarding the argument for a four-inch iPhone. The case for the larger-screened device was laid out by a Verge forum member, and has since garnered some serious attention around the web.

So much in fact, that a mock-up of the conceptualized handset has already surfaced. 9to5Mac reader Spencer Caldwell created the image you see above, which gives us a good idea of what an iPhone with a 1152x640 display could look like...

A scenario for an iPhone with a 4-inch display

Even though we are likely a good 6 months away from seeing Apple's next iPhone in the flesh, we are already hearing tons of gossip regarding possible new features. One rumor in particular, an all-new 4-inch display, seems to be surfacing rather consistently.

Folks in the Apple community have been postulating the existence of a 4-inch iPhone for more than a year now. And after more than two years with the iPhone 4 design, and over 5 years with the 3.5-inch form factor, many think the handset is ripe for a change...

Check out this “iPhone Pro” concept with DSLR lens mount

As most of you know, we love a good iPhone concept here on iDB. Concepts allow us to see what kind of features could be implemented in the handset if conventional design rules didn't exist. And they're fun to look at too.

This latest mockup, which comes from designer Choi Jinyoung, is certainly no exception. The iPhone Pro, as he calls it, comes fully loaded with a 4.5-inch display, a built-in nano projector and a DSLR lens mount...

Check out this awesome iPhone concept with a large display

Yesterday afternoon, a report surfaced claiming that Apple was ordering up 4.6-inch displays for its next iPhone. The news caused quite a commotion, considering the iPhone has had a mere 3.5-inch screen for the last 5 years.

Needless to say we're a bit skeptical on the matter. While we could see Apple moving to a larger 4-inch display, as previous rumors have suggested, we can't imagine it going with one nearly 5-inches big. Then we saw this concept...

Forget the iPad 3, check out these tablets

We know, we're getting tired of all of the iPad 3 chatter today too. So we figured we would take a break from talking about that tablet, to talk about these tablets.

The folks over at Aatma Studio, the creators of this awesome iPhone 5 mock-up, published a video today showcasing their new iPad 3 concepts. We've posted the video after the break, and highly recommend watching it. It'll blow your mind...

The Curved iPhone 5

If there is something I never get tired to look at – and repin on Pinterest – it's design concepts for future Apple products. Of course, these concepts have nothing to do with what the next iPhone or iPad will look like, they are nonetheless very interesting to look at, if like me, you like creative things.

Coming from the same people that brought us the iPhone Air concept, comes a new concept that puts a curve on the iPhone 5...

Check out this awesome concept of a retro Mac iPhone theme

Thanks to jailbreaking, you can make your iOS device look pretty much anyway you want. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of themes in Cydia that can alter the appearance of Apple's mobile operating system.

But we've never seen anything like this before. Designer Anton Repponen has posted several images to his blog of what he imagines a Mac Plus-inspired iPhone theme would look like. Introducing iOS 86...

Check Out This Awesome iPhone-Compatible iWatch Concept

Digital wrist-wear has come a long way since calculator watches. Now there are products like the I'm Watch and multiple wearable cases that turn the iPod Shuffle into a high-tech ticker.

But if none of the current offerings are doing it for you, maybe this one will. The iWatch 2 is an iOS-compatible wristwatch that has enough features to make James Bond himself jealous...

Flipping Through the Pages on an iPad eBook, Just Like You Do on a Real Book

Apple's recent release of iBooks 2 has truly revolutionized the textbook industry, but the multi-touch experience in iBooks could use some major improvements. As it stands, Apple's official eBook app is limited to one basic swiping motion between pages. The KAIST Institute of Information Technology Convergence's new patented multi-touch interface for eBooks, on the other hand, is quite the contrary.

The prototype has several new multi-touch gestures that allow for you to flip through pages, bookmark with your fingers, turn through multiple pages at once, write page numbers, and more. You have to watch the video demonstration for yourself...

iPhone 5 Concept: Two Home Buttons

This concept video shows an iPhone 5 sporting not one, but two home buttons, right on the sides of the screen. I fail to see how practical this would be, especially when holding your iPhone in just one hand.

Last week we told you about designer Antonio De Rosa's next-generation iPhone concept/tribute to Steve Jobs. The iPhone SJ looks like something Jony Ive could have cooked up himself in the basements of Cupertino, and now there's a video of the concept for our viewing enjoyment.
