Sunrise Calendar adds Trello support, RSVP to invitation by swiping on the notification and more

Wednesday morning, Sunrise Calendar received its iOS 8 focused update bringing out new capabilities to the already feature-packed cross-platform app.

These include support for the free web-based project management service Trello and the ability to RSVP to invitation notifications by swiping on the notification directly (requires iOS 8).

With support for Trello, Sunrise now lets you see all the cards with a due date and introduces a new option to filter for cards that are assigned to you.

Tempo for iPad is here

Tempo Smart Calendar, another worthwhile alternative to Apple's stock iOS Calendar that last week became the first iOS app with Uber integration, is now available with native iPad interface which takes full advantage of the tablet's larger canvas.

The iPad interface has been added to the existing Tempo for iPhone app, now a universal download in the App Store.

Other new features in this edition of Tempo include the new Week, Month and Agenda views that look business on the iPad, localization in French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish, as well as wider availability in more countries.

Sunrise for iOS gains push for Google Calendar, search and Todoist integration

Sunrise, the popular alternative to Apple’s stock iOS Calendar, today refreshed its nicely done iPhone and iPad application with push for Google Calendars, the search feature and Todoist integration, the company noted in a blog post Wednesday.

A long-overdue feature, search is finally available in Sunrise to let you sift through your past or future events by title, location and attendees.

Push is now available for Google Calendars and fans of Todoist will appreciate Sunrise's integration with this popular task manager for personal productivity.

Sunrise is available free in the App Store and Mac App Store. Against all odds, Sunrise the company has raised over a whopping $8 million in funding thus far. Not too shabby for a calendar app, wouldn't you say?

Tempo becomes the first iPhone calendar app with Uber integration

After adding in Reminders and Waze integration, Mailbox support and other new features to Tempo earlier in the summer, now developers behind the smart iOS calendar application have issued another update making it the first iPhone calendar app that integrates with Uber, the tremendously popular ride-sharing service.

Uber integration is another way Tempo ensures that you’re never late to that crucial meeting.

Unlike the vast majority of alternatives to the stock iOS Calendar app offered in the App Store, Tempo sets itself apart with a built-in smart assistant which anticipates what you need and surfaces that information right in the calendar, when you need it most...
