Anyone who takes advantage of the Shortcuts app to perform automations would be familiar with the notification banner that manliest itself after the automation completes.
Apple intended for this notification to let the user know when the automation finishes running, but if you’re already familiar with what your automation is supposed to do, then sometimes it can come off as redundant information.

Countless jailbreak tweak releases in the past have attempted to remedy this situation by putting notification banners on a diet – an effort to reduce their intrusive footprint over whatever interface you might be using. The latest of such releases is miniBanner 14 by iOS developer MissThee.
As you run your iPhone’s battery far into the danger zone, iOS displays a low power banner to let you know that you should visit a charger as soon as you can.
The low power banner that comes with a stock installation of iOS is particularly barebones, and could do with some spicing up. TitanD3v seems to agree with this sentiment, and a such, a newly released jailbreak tweak dubbed Surge has been conceived.
The concept of smaller notification banners has been around for the iOS & iPadOS platforms for quite some time now in the form of jailbreak tweaks, but it’s something that Apple hasn’t yet taken up – not even in the latest iOS & iPadOS 14 releases.
Jailbreakers appear to enjoy this feature because it makes notification banners more compact and prevents them from getting in the way of the buttons on the navigation bar. Personally, I love this feature too, and that’s one reason why I’m so excited about a new and free jailbreak tweak release called Liddell by iOS developer Litten.

One of the latest of such releases is a new jailbreak tweak dubbed Yokumiru by iOS developer Plat_Ykor, which can augment incoming notification banners with slick animations, apply specialized badges to those that contain a user-designated keyword, or conceal the contents of those notification entirely until you’re ready to view them.
Banner notifications are a critical component of the notification system found on iPhones, iPod touches, and iPads. Whenever you miss a notification, regardless of which app it’s coming from, the operating system displays a banner to keep you in the loop of what’s going on.
Like many things in Apple’s fully integrated software ecosystem, banner notifications aren’t aesthetically customizable. With that in mind, it’s easy to see why banner notifications are often the topic of interest with respect to jailbreak tweaks.

BatteryFlow Reborn is a new and free jailbreak tweak developed by ItzNebbs with the intent of making iPhone users more actively aware of their handset’s low battery situation by continuously bombarding them with notification alerts and banners.
It was only last week that we showed you a new jailbreak tweak called Destra, which brought a macOS-inspired banner notification experience to the iPad and iPhone. Part form minor changes to the banner notification aesthetics, perhaps one of the other eye-catching aspects about the tweak was that it made banner notifications on the iPad feel more desktop-like by moving them over to the top-right of the display rather than displaying them in the center.
If you liked the idea of right-aligned banner notifications on your iPad, but didn’t like the price tag that Destra demanded, then you might take a liking to a newly released and free jailbreak tweak called iustum by iOS developer jesseb0rn, as it brings this notification banner-centric feature in particular to pwned iPads at no charge to the end user.
You can receive push notifications on a Mac just as you can on an iPhone or iPad. With that in mind, one thing that has always stood out to me as a rather peculiar design choice on Apple’s part is how notification banners appear on the right side of the screen on a Mac and in the center of the display on an iPhone or iPad.
As you use your iPhone or iPad throughout the day, you’re likely to receive a number of banner notifications from various apps, whether they’re comprised of text messages coming from Apple’s Messages app, status updates coming from Facebook, or activity alerts coming from Twitter. One thing all these banner notifications have in common, despite coming from different apps, is that they’re particularly boring.
