Apple TV gets Shared Photo Streams, new screen savers, iTunes account switching and more

Apple today pushed out an update for its Apple TV set-top box. The update is focused on iOS 5.1 build 10A406e and a slew of enhancements and a few new features. Among the things we like in the new Apple TV software (in addition to the obligatory stability and performance fixes) is the ability to easily save multiple iTunes accounts and switch between them, support for Shared Photo Streams and AirPlay broadcasting from Apple TV to other devices...

FireCore working on major aTV Flash (black) update

FireCore has just announced that it is nearing completion of the next major version of its aTV Flash (black) software, 2.0. The suite adds tons of functionality to jailbroken Apple TVs.

Sn0wBreeze 2.9.6 released, now supports ATV 5.0.2 firmware

Apple's little ATV update, which started rolling out yesterday afternoon, is quickly making the rounds in the jailbreak community today. Earlier we saw FireCore's Seas0nPass tool updated to support the new software. And now it's Sn0wBreeze's turn.

A few moments ago, iH8sn0w announced that he has released a new version of Sn0wBreeze: v2.9.6. The utility now includes support for the 5.0.2 Apple TV software, as well as a new feature that will allow users to resize their ATV's root partition...

Seas0nPass updated to support new Apple TV 5.0.2 firmware

It's been nearly 24 hours since Apple pushed out 5.0.2 to Apple TV owners, and, at least at the time of this writing, it has still yet to post any details regarding the update. The ATV support page still shows 5.0.1 as the latest software.

But perhaps the changes in 5.0.2 were so minute that it didn't warrant any kind of changelog. After all, the folks at FireCore have already managed to update their Seas0nPass jailbreak utility to support the new firmware...

Apple rolls out 5.0.2 update for Apple TV

It looks like Apple has just pushed out an update for its Apple TV, bringing the software to version 5.0.2. No details have been posted yet about the new build, numbered 9B830, but we expect Apple's site to be updated shortly.

Owners of second and third generation Apple TVs can download the update over the air by opening up the device's Settings menu and selecting General > Software Update. Full changelog, once Apple posts it, after the break...

Apple TV 5.0.1 firmware is out: HD previews, Netflix fixes and more

The Apple TV software version 5.0.1 carries a build number 9B206f and should be available for download for both the second- and third-generation set-top box using the Software Update option in your device's menu...

FireCore releases aTV Flash (black) 1.5 with several updates

FireCore announced today that it has released a new version of its popular Apple TV app, aTV Flash (black). The update brings the software to version 1.5, and includes several new additions.

FireCore releases iOS 5.1 jailbreak for Apple TV 2
