Job listings discovered in May 2016 suggested that Apple’s first retail store in the New York City borough of Brooklyn could open for business this year. Today, the company's Retail website officially announced that grand opening of its all-new Brooklyn store will take place on Sunday, July 30, at 10am local time.

Hong Kong, a special administrative region of the People's Republic of China, will get its fifth Apple retail store a week from today on Thursday, June 30, Apple announced today. Located inside the New Town Plaza shopping mall at 18 Sha Tin Centre Street, the store will be open seven days a week between 10:00am to 10pm local time.

In what seems to be a first for Apple, the company's online store has remained active ahead of the WWDC 2016 keynote. In all past events, Apple did take the webstore offline a few hours ahead of them. According to a pair of notices on Apple's Retail webpage, a new retail store is scheduled for grand opening in China's Tianjin this coming Saturday, and another one the following Saturday in Shanghai.
The new Tianjin store is scheduled to open doors to shoppers on Saturday, June 11, while the new Shanghai location is opening on Saturday, June 18.

Apple's signature glass staircase in its newly launched store on San Francisco’s Union Square set the company back a cool $1 million, or approximately $33,333 per stair, while the shell of the building cost about $19 million, according to official building permits obtained by Patently Apple.
The building's sprinkler system cost an estimated $2.28 million to upgrade, the solar power installation on the roof cost $800,000 while installing canopy panels came with a $150,000 price tag attached to it.

Apple must meet a strict rule that requires foreign retailers to sell at least 30% locally-sourced goods if it wishes to open stores in India, reports Reuters. That's because the company's now started a recruiting process for the Brooklyn area. The store should be located at 247 Bedford Avenue, at the corner of North 3rd Street, in Williamsburg.
A series of job post on Apple's website, first spotted by MacRumors, advertise positions for Creatives, Experts, Geniuses, Specialists, Business Leaders and management, with LinkedIn ads seeking a Retail Manager and Senior Manager specifically in Brooklyn.
Apple reveals refreshed retail design in new Union Square store
Apple on Thursday introduced its new store on San Francisco's Union Square, revealing its latest vision for the future of its retail design. The new store's signature 42-foot tall sliding glass doors are set to open to customers on Saturday, May 21.
In addition to the large sliding doors, new retail store features include "The Forum," a vibrant gathering place, centered around a 6K Video Wall, and "The Plaza," an area open to the public 24 hours a day that offers public Wi-Fi and seating.
