I’ve been reporting on Apple through various outlets for over eight years. During that time, I have covered plenty of “special” events like the one we’re about to see this week. Based on my experience, there are things I’ve come to expect from Apple during these events, and things I do not.

2018 6.1-inch iPhone could face early supply challenges, higher price point
Over the weekend, serial leaker Ben Geskin posted images purportedly showing dummy units for Apple's upcoming 6.1-inch LCD iPhone. On Monday, Bloomberg reported that the new handset, which might be called the iPhone Xc or iPhone Xr, is likely to face early supply challenges.
Milan Apple store and iPhone Xs event inspired wallpapers
We are just days away from the upcoming iPhone Xs event, which will be live streamed starting at 10:00AM pacific time, on Wednesday September 12. Apple is preparing to host the announcement in Steve Jobs theater on their Apple Park campus in Cupertino. In preparation, the Apple TV streaming app is updated with a new logo, which inspired this week's Wallpapers of the Week selection. Thursday, August 30, Apple sent out media invitations to the upcoming iPhone fall event. We are expecting to see two new handsets and a refresh 's' version of the current iPhone X. This will place Apple's handset line up sizes at 5.8", 6.1", and 6.5".

Apple’s hosting ‘Close Your Rings’ WWDC18 event for developers

Apple Events app updated ahead of Field Trip education event
Ahead of tomorrow's education-focused event, the Apple Events app for tvOS has been updated with Apple Pencil-like sketch and stylized logo matching the official invite.
Apple’s March 27 education event won’t be live streamed
Apple on Friday confirmed that it will not be live-streaming its education-focused event on Tuesday, March 27. The company has updated the Events app on Apple TV to show information about the presentation, but notes that a video of the event will not be available until after it concludes.

Apple’s Federighi allegedly confirms there will be no Mac event in October
Apple has no plans whatsoever to hold a media event this month to introduce new products or update existing ones, shooting down speculation that the company might be holding a Mac-centric product event in October as it did in years past.
