A little over a week ago, court documents surfaced regarding the ongoing patent war between Apple and Samsung. The two companies have been locked in courtroom battles all over the world since Apple filed its trademark infringement suit earlier this year.

Apple's argument has been that Samsung's products look extremely similar to its own devices, particularly its tablets. This was especially evident in the leaked court documents that included tips from Apple on how Samsung should've made its Galaxy Tab.

Australian Court Overturns Samsung Tablet Ban Ruling

It looks like Christmas came early for Samsung this year. Gizmodo is reporting that an Australian court has overturned the injunction against the Korean company that banned it from selling its popular Galaxy tablet on the continent.

The ban is the result of an ongoing world-wide patent dispute between the two companies and has been in place since late Summer. But, apparently, Samsung made a good case in its appeal it filed last week because the injunction has been lifted...

Here we go again. In the pissing contest legal battle that has now been going on for months between Samsung and Apple, an Italian judge has once again decided to side with Apple.

According to Italian news website AGI, a judge denied Samsung's request to ban the iPhone 4S in Italy. While the judge turned down Samsung's request, she did ask both companies to provide further evidence, which will be reviewed later in December...

For those that don't follow Android news, the Galaxy Nexus handset is the new flavor of the month. Built by Samsung, the new device sports a ridiculous 4.65 Super AMOLED HD screen, and about every other feature you could ask for.

However, Samsung's mobile president Shin Jong-kyun believes the phone is missing something — Apple's patents. Just before the new Nexus was unveiled Tuesday night, Shin told reporters that Apple shouldn't have any problems with this one...

Popular tech patent-analyst Florian Mueller is reporting that Apple has just scored a major legal win in Australia. The Cupertino company has been battling Samsung all over the globe, and it just scored a major victory in Sydney.

On Mueller's blog, FOSSPatents, he discusses the importance of a recent decision by the Federal Court of Australia in the Apple vs. Samsung patent dispute. The court has just ordered an interim injunction over Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1...

T-Mobile Joins Verizon to Support Samsung Against Apple Litigation

Just like Verizon did last week, T-Mobile has submitted an amicus curiae to the court, officially siding with Samsung in its ongoing litigation against Apple. For the non-lawyers, an amicus curiae is when someone volunteers to offer information to assist a court in deciding on an issue.

T-Mobile's argument is similar to Verizon's. Both company don't want to see any of their best-selling 4G devices banned during the holiday season. Obviously, it would be a huge loss for the carriers, who generate a big chunk of revenue from this time of the year...

Most of you know by now that Apple and Samsung are in a grueling court battle. Back in April the Cupertino company filed a lawsuit against Samsung for violating its "trade dress," or in layman's terms, blatantly copying its device designs.

The ongoing litigation has resulted in a temporary ban of Samsung's Galaxy Tab and other devices in multiple countries, and the two companies are about to square off here in the US. Judging by this new "evidence," I'd say Apple has the upper hand...
