Avertas reincarnates Auxo’s popular multitasking gestures on iOS 11

Auxo was one of the most popular multitasking tweaks ever made, and while most people enjoyed it because of the redesigned App Switcher, the tweak was also renowned for its intuitive multitasking gestures like Hot Corners and the Quick Switcher.

Auxo hasn’t been updated with iOS 11 support and it probably never will be. But that doesn’t mean you have to live without its award-winning multitasking gestures. A new free jailbreak tweak called Avertas by iOS developer kunderscore is now available that ports these features to jailbroken iOS 11 devices.

This tweak eliminates the two-step process to force-close apps on the iPhone X

Although I love using my iPhone X, I have a gripe with how the App Switcher works on this particular device. More specifically, you need to tap and hold on App Switcher cards before you can swipe up to force-close their respective apps.

Given that this two-step process isn’t required on any other Apple handset, it took me a while to get used to, and I still don’t like it. On the other hand, anyone on the same page can now take advantage of a new free jailbreak tweak called SwipeUptoKillX by iOS developer CydiaGeek.

Gauze brings a grid-style App Switcher to iOS 10 devices

Apple tweaks the App Switcher user interface with almost every major iteration of iOS. But despite all the changes Apple made over the years, the App Switcher still harbors one recognizable issue: it wastes a ton of screen real estate.

GridSwitcher was a well-accepted jailbreak tweak released in 2015 that attempted to resolve this concern by displaying more apps in the App Switcher at a glance, but it only supported iOS 7 and 8. Today, a new jailbreak tweak called Gauze by iOS developer Antique breathes new life into this idea for jailbroken iOS 10 handsets.

2 ways to switch between apps on iPhone with Face ID

You can enter the iOS app switcher at any time while using one app in order to easily switch to another one. Thankfully, iPhones with Face ID (without a front physical Home button) include a gesture allowing you to quickly switch between open apps without having to enter the app switcher at all.

SwitcherXI brings an iOS 11-esque App Switcher experience to iOS 10

There are some subtle differences in the App Switcher between iOS 10 and iOS 11, and although they aren't significant, iOS developer ArtikusHG created a new jailbreak tweak called SwitcherXI that ports the iOS 11 App Switcher experience to jailbroken iOS 10 devices.

Post-installation, your App Switcher begins to look how it does in the before and after illustration above.
