SuperSwitcher: Supercharge Your iPhone’s App Switcher

Apple's App Switcher is a bit on the anemic side when it comes to features. Proof of that comes from the wasted real estate that sits above of your App Switcher just dying to be utilized.

Of course, leave it to the jailbreak community to actually make good use of this wasted space. That's exactly what SuperSwitcher aims to do, and as you'll see inside, it does it quite well...

SwitcherCleaner Micromanages Your iPhone’s App Switcher

SwitcherCleaner allows for more fine tuned control over the apps in your App Switcher. It works by automatically placing the items found in your App Switcher into "quit" mode, and only displays apps that are actually running.

SwitcherCleaner is an offshoot of a previously released tweak entitled SwitcherMod. In fact, it borrows its only two features directly from SwitcherMod and brings them to iOS 5...

How to Open the App Switcher From Your Lock Screen

Multitasking on the Lock screen you say? Indeed. LockScreen Multitasking is a new jailbreak tweak that allows you to launch your iPhone's App Switcher directly from the Lock screen.

This makes it possible to launch apps, and enjoy the other features contained in your device's App Switcher without even unlocking it...

SwitcherPages: Add Page Dots to Your App Switcher

Sometimes, the simplest things in life are the best things in life. Take cookies for example; they're not complex, in fact, they're just batter and chocolate chips; but for a cookie lover, they're oh so delightful.

You can think of SwitcherPages in much of the same way. It's not the most complex tweak in the world, but if you like the concept of gathering your bearings on the App Switcher menu, it's a great thing to have...

KillBackground: Kill All Running Apps from Your Multitasking Bar

Although Apple took a couple of years to implement system-wide multitasking in iOS, it seems to do the trick. It's easy to access the multitasking bar from any application, and for the most part, apps running in the background don't slow you up.

Note that I said for the most part. It seems like once you have 10 or more apps running, your iPhone starts to feel a bit sluggish. And to close them all one by one can be a tedious task. So why not download a jailbreak utility that'll do it for you in one step?

Add a Free Landscape App Switcher to Your iPhone With ‘Switcherscape’

If you've ever wanted to open up your app switcher in landscape mode like you can do on the iPad, then your only choice is to jailbreak your iPhone.

Up until now, the jailbreak tweaks that enable the landscape app switcher on the iPhone have all been paid tweaks.

Thank's to @chpwn, there is now a free option to enable the landscape app switcher, and that option is aptly entitled, Switcherscape...

‘SwitcherSettings’ – Add SBSettings Toggles to the App Switcher

SBSettings is always the first tweak I install after jailbreaking. Even when it's not installed, I find myself swiping at the statusbar expecting a menu to drop. The simple utility gives me quick access to toggle Wi-Fi and Bluetooth settings, as well as a respring function.

Though I've yet to find anything in Cydia that matches the functionality of SBSettings, the competition is certainly heating up. Jeff recently told you about Homescreen Settings, which places the actions on your springboard. I'm going to tell you about SwitcherSettings, which adds the functions to your app switcher...
