Apple may ditch the problematic butterfly mechanism keyboards sooner than expected

Supply chain analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently predicted that the first Apple notebook to ditch the butterfly keyboard will be a refreshed MacBook Air. However, the company recently updated the MacBook Air lineup without changing the keyboard mechanism. In a revised prediction, he's now saying that the phasing-out process will begin with the rumored new Mac notebook model sporting a 16-inch display that should release later this year.

TF Securities' Ming-Chi Kuo, the most reliable Apple analyst out there, says the next MacBook Air and other upcoming Mac notebooks will ditch the problematic butterfly keyboard mechanism that's been causing significant reliability issues and roll out a refreshed keyboard design based on the more traditional scissor-based typing mechanism instead.

Barclays: 2019 iPhones to lose 3D Touch, full-screen Touch ID on 2020 models & iPhone SE 2 with iPhone 8 hardware in the works

One analyst has made a number of predictions for the upcoming iPhones calling for the removal of 3D Touch from all 2019 models. He says iPhones released in 2020 may adopt acoustic fingerprint sensors behind the whole display area which would allow for a full-screen Touch ID feature. And there's also talk of the iPhone SE successor based on iPhone 8 hardware possibly being released in early 2020.
