Faced with an average user review rating of 2.3 out of 5 stars for its Photoshop for iPad app on Apple's App Store, creative software maker Adobe has now admitted that it's indeed failed to properly distinguish between “real” and “full” Photoshop experience on the Apple tablet.
It's been a year since Adobe first previewed a version of Photoshop running on an iPad at its Adobe MAX conference in Los Angeles, with a promise to release the app sometime in 2019. Now the software is available for download from the App Store. It's a free download, though unlocking and using it requires an active Creative Cloud subscription.
Adobe has updated is Creative Cloud mobile apps with access to more than 17,000 fonts. The fonts can be used on those mobile apps running on iOS 13.1 or later which support Adobe's custom font APIs. The announcement was made with a blog post on Adobe's web site.
Adobe left the personal information of almost 7.5 million customers of its Creative Cloud service exposed, according to a new report on The Next Web.
Security firm Comparitech says Adobe left an Elastisearch server accessible without any password or authentication required. Adobe corrected the problem as soon as it was alerted on October 19th. Exposed information included email addresses, Creative Cloud subscription information and other details, though financial information and passwords were not exposed.
Comparitech's concern is that the information which was exposed may make those Adobe customers more liable to phishing attacks in the future.
Adobe acknowledged the issue in a blog post:
The environment contained Creative Cloud customer information, including e-mail addresses, but did not include any passwords or financial information. This issue was not connected to, nor did it affect, the operation of any Adobe core products or services.
