T-Mobile’s Cyber Monday: $100 off 64GB iPhone 6, more iPhone discounts

T-Mobile, the nation's fourth-largest carrier, is taking a cool hundred bucks off the iPhone 6 model with sixty-four gigabytes of storage. That's basically giving you the 64GB iPhone 6 for the price of the 16GB version, a savings of $100 dollars.

The Deutsche Telekom-owned company normally sells the 64GB iPhone 6 model for the full price of $749 (or $99 down plus monthly installments).

And as part of its Cyber Monday deal, T-Mobile is also discounting other iPhone models, including the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c.

iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 now available to purchase from T-Mobile

Keeping true to its promise, T-Mobile, the nation's fourth-largest carrier, on Wednesday announced that customers can now buy Apple's iPad Air 2 and iPad mini 3 in participating T-Mobile stores and online. The new tablets are available in Wi-Fi-only and cellular flavors and in all three colors.

The top-of-the-line iPad Air 2 model with 128 gigabytes of storage is not yet available, leaving early adopters to choose between 16GB and 64GB iPad Air 2 models. The iPad mini 3 is available in 16/64/128GB storage flavors.

T-Mobile’s John Legere on iPhone 6 demand, Apple SIM, and more

While Tim Cook was speaking over at The Wall Street Journal’s inaugural WSJ.D Live conference, T-Mobile CEO John Legere joined Ina Fried on stage at Recode's Code/Mobile event earlier this evening. During the interview, the outspoken executive covered a range of interesting topics.

Among those topics was iPhone 6 demand. Legere said that the debut of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus was T-Mobile's biggest phone launch in company history. He also noted that demand for the larger 6 Plus has been "mind blowing," accounting for nearly 50% of iPhone 6 mix at one point.

T-Mobile to begin offering iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3 for $0 down

Folks looking to score a new iPad Air 2 or iPad mini 3 without having to pay a lot of money upfront will be happy to hear that T-Mobile has announced that it will soon begin offering the new tablets under its equipment installment plan.

Starting tomorrow, qualified Simple Choice customers will be able to pre-order a Cellular + Wi-Fi iPad mini 3 for as little as $0 down and $22.08 per month for two years, or a Cellular + Wi-Fi iPad Air 2 for $0 down and $26.24/month.

T-Mobile to add iPhone 6 to ‘Test Drive’ program

T-Mobile, the nation's fourth-largest wireless carrier, this past weekend told technology website Re/code that devices upgraded to iOS 8, including the latest iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones, will be soon available through its 'Test Drive' program. Introduced at its 'Uncarrier 5.0' event back in June, 'Test Drive' allows customers to borrow an iPhone free for a week to test out T-Mobile’s network.

T-Mobile announces support for Wi-Fi calling on all new smartphones

During its 7.0 Un-carrier event today, T-Mobile announced plans for its new 'Wi-Fi Unleashed' initiative. As part of the campaign, the carrier says that it will support Wi-Fi calling and texting on all new smartphones, including the just-announced iPhone 6 and 6 Plus.

This allows users to send and receive both calls and text messages over a Wi-Fi network, and is a highly sought after feature for folks in areas with poor cell service. T-Mobile says the feature will be free, and is offering upgrades to customers that don't have Wi-Fi devices.

T-Mobile sends out invites for September 10th ‘Uncarrier 7.0’ event

T-Mobile today sent out invitations to a media event scheduled for September 10th—notably the day after Apple's iPhone keynote. As you can see in the image above provided by TmoNews, the invite reads "This time it's personal," with "7.0" printed largely in the background.

The event will be held in San Francisco, at the T-Mobile store on the corner of Market and 3rd street, and begins at 1 pm on the aforementioned date. There's no word on what will be discussed, but T-Mobile usually uses these occasions to make major strategic announcements.

T-Mobile will double your data if you add a tablet to your smartphone plan

T-Mobile, the nation's fourth-largest wireless provider, on Tuesday announced it's doubling LTE data when you add a tablet to your smartphone plan.

Moreover, the firm said it's increased the number of lines supported by its family plan accounts to ten.

These changes arrive just as the Deutsche Telekom-owned carrier yesterday unveiled a new $5 per month option quadrupling the amount of high-speed LTE data included in the Simple Starter plan from 512 megabytes to two gigabytes.

T-Mobile announces $5 per month option quadrupling Simple Starter LTE data to 2GB

Beginning September 3, T-Mobile customers in the United States will be able to boost their Simple Starter plan via an additional $5 per month option giving them a total of two gigabytes of high-speed 4G LTE data.

That's in addition to unlimited talk and text included in the Simple Starter plan, the nation's fourth largest wireless carrier said Monday morning.

In other words, in exchange for five bucks on top of your $40 per month Simple Starter charge (for a total of $45 per month), the wireless carrier will quadruple LTE data.

The new option goes into effect on Wednesday, September 3.

T-Mobile offering free year of unlimited LTE data for referrals and switchers

Now that the T-Mobile-Sprint merger is off, it looks like the race is on for the definitive third place spot in the ranks of US carriers. Sprint fired the first shot with its new 'Family Share Pack' plan, and today, T-Mobile responded.

T-Mobile to begin throttling select unlimited LTE customers too

It looks like Verizon isn't the only carrier planning to throttle select unlimited LTE customers in the near future. A leaked internal memo surfaced today, confirming that T-Mobile will also begin slowing down the connections of some of its subscribers later this month.

According to the memo, throttling will only apply to heavy data users that are using their connection for peer-to-peer file sharing and unapproved tethering. Like Verizon, the carrier claims the move is part of a larger effort to improve its overall network performance...
