Good news for those of you who are into theming your jailbroken iPhone—WinterBoard, the framework that's pretty much the standard for theming iOS devices, is now compatible with iOS 9. This means that you can now enjoy all of the many wonderful themes available on Cydia with the latest available jailbreak.
It's always nice when someone from the jailbreak community ventures over to the App Store and goes "legit". Quite a few jailbreak community members have done so in the past, and Surenix, frequent jailbreak design collaborator and theme creator, is one of latest to do so.
The first edition of his App Store release, Power, bought glanceable iPhone power levels to your Apple watch. The newest update, version 1.1, adds notifications to the mix.
With Power 1.1 ($0.99), you can now be notified when your iPhone reaches specific battery levels. You'll can even receive an Apple Watch notification when your Phone battery is fully charged.
Alympus is a brand new tweak by developer iKyle, and designer Surenix. It's been teased for the past week, but until today, we really had no idea what to expect. Would it be a new messaging tweak? A new theme? Or something else?
Today, we have a better idea of what Alympus entails. It seems to be an App Switcher replacement for iOS.

Surenix, mostly known for his design work on jailbreak themes and tweaks such as ayeris and auki, has released his first application in the App Store. Called Power, the app aims at making it easy to quickly check at the status of your iPhone battery directly from your Apple Watch.
Tomorrow, Apple begins the annual Worldwide Developer Conference with a keynote that will be live streamed across le world. A long list of what-if's shroud the conference this year, with little or no details about any upcoming features or releases. Of course, we expect updates to iOS 9, OS X, and potentially Watch OS. One of the most popular Lock screen launchers—atom—is getting a big update for iOS 8 and the iPhone 6. With new developer Daniel Turner on board to execute his vision, Surenix plans on bringing the updated version of atom to the Cydia store this Friday. The popular quick reply tweak Auki has been updated to version 1.2, and it brings some notable new features to the table. The big feature with version 1.2 is without a doubt the new dark mode, which is great when texting in low light conditions.
While it's possible to toggle directly between dark and light mode via Auki's settings, the tweak also features the ability to schedule when dark mode is enabled and disabled, which its designer, Surenix, subtly hinted to in this clever tweet.

As I am trying to write a catchy intro for this post, I can’t help but feel the pressure. I’m feeling the pressure mainly because I wrote a similar piece a couple of years ago when I first attended JailbreakCon. To date, this post is still one of my favorites I have published on iDB. Having set the bar pretty high, this sequel could prove to be like most sequels: uninspired and thrown out there to cash in on a previous success. This is a risk I am willing to take today.
Maybe more importantly, I am feeling the pressure because I don’t want to disappoint readers by writing the same story I wrote a couple years ago. I guess I’m feeling like a musician that is incapable of finding a different sound for his next album, you know, kinda like the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Sometimes it’s good to keep the same sound. Sometimes it gets repetitive and boring. Hopefully, this time will still feel as refreshingly honest as it did the first time, while still entertaining readers, which really is my ultimate goal.
Yes, my goal is not so much to tell you about all the great workshops and talks I attended at JailbreakCon this year. My goal is to share the other side of the story. The side that no one not attending the event would be able to experience if it wasn’t for the words I’m typing on the keyboard right now. Let’s call it the behind the scene story of JailbreakCon.

Ayecon is probably the most well-known jailbreak theme of all time, and for good reason; it was groundbreaking upon its initial release, harnessing the power of the then newly-christened Retina display for insanely detailed and hyper-skeuomorphic app icons.
But when Apple decided to switch things up with iOS 7—ushering in its first post-Forstall release and shedding tons of skeuomorphic weight in the process—Ayecon no longer felt fresh and new. Ayecon is like the anti-iOS 7, because it heavily depends on the now outdated skeuomorphic identity of iOS 6 and below.
When the iOS 7 version of Ayecon was released earlier this year, it was met with mixed reactions due to its polarizing nature when compared to iOS 7. Although some pledged unequivocal allegiance to the legendary theme, not a few were disappointed that it didn't usher in something new, something more iOS 7 appropriate, something, well, more flat.
Surenix's first new theme since Ayecon is the perfect answer to the semi-collective "meh" heard across the jailbreak community. Instead of trying to shoehorn an old theme into a mold it was never intended to fit, a fresh new start was warranted. Ayeris is that fresh start.
Unlike Ayecon's heavy-handed approach to design, Ayeris is a much more subtle re-imagining of iOS 7. We've been testing Ayeris for the past few weeks on our day-to-day devices, and we'd like to show it to you now. Check inside for our full hands-on review and video.
