ipswDownloader Makes Downloading iOS Firmware Easy

If you've jailbroken or unlocked your iPhone, iPod, or iPad before you're probably used to the usual procedure. You usually have to download the iOS IPSW firmware file in order to continue with the jailbreaking of your iDevice.

ipswDownloader by developer Vitaly Parovishnik makes this process a whole lot easier. The program not only downloads the IPSW firmware file for you, but also displays whether the firmware you've selected can be jailbroken and unlocked, along with the size of the IPSW and the tools needed to jailbreak the firmware.

Dev Team Fixes RedSn0w Untethered 4.3.2 Jailbreak for iPhone 4

Yesterday, the Dev Team released their RedSn0w untethered jailbreak tool for iOS 4.3.2. While the jailbreak was working fine with most devices, there seemed to be issues with the iPhone 4, which would randomly get stuck on reboot.

With the help of i0n1c, the Dev Team fixed RedSn0w and updated it to version 0.9.6rc14. If you already ran 0.9.6rc13, you can simply download RedSn0w 0.9.6rc14 and run it over the previous one...

Only moments ago we told you that i0n1c released his untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.2. The download that i0n1c posted consisted of the jailbreak code, instead of an actual tool for end users.

Right after i0n1c's release, the Dev Team has updated the RedSn0w jailbreak tool with iOS 4.3.2 support. RedSn0w will successfully jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 and is available on both Mac OS X and Windows.

Earlier today Apple released iOS 4.3.2 for iPhone. Even though we gave a warning to jailbreakers and unlockers to stay away from iOS 4.3.2, it seems that there is good news on the jailbreak side.

By using the latest version of RedSn0w, I was able to jailbreak my iPhone 3GS on 4.3.2. All it took was just about 2 minutes of my day...

The Dev Team has recently updated their RedSn0w jailbreak to version 0.9.6rc12. According to MuscleNerd, RedSn0w 0.9.6rc12 should fix any lingering issues with the boot logo animations, which some of you had issues with.

So, what to do if you already jailbroke with RedSn0w and want to fix this boot logo issue? Simply download RedSn0w 0.9.6rc12 from here and run it over your current jailbreak, but make sure you do not select to install Cydia...

The Dev Team has updated the RedSn0w jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1 to version 0.9.6rc11. The latest version of RedSn0w adds the custom boot logo option we originally saw in GreenPois0n.

Jailbreaking with RedSn0w is still essentially the same process, but the new "allow boot animation" option gives you the ability to install custom boot logos through Cydia.

Now that Redsn0w 0.9.6rc9 finally provides the long awaited iOS 4.3.1 untethered jailbreak, many iPhone 4 owners with unlocked iPhones’ have been advised to hold off upgrading to 4.3.1 as you will lose the ability to unlock, since the newer firmware will update your baseband.

Furthermore, as we've mentioned earlier this morning, the new iOS 4.3.1 firmware currently is incompatible with the Dev Team's ultrasn0w unlock tool. It is recommended that you wait for the Dev Team to update this tool before upgrading and jailbreaking.

But for those anxious to update to the new iOS 4.3.1 firmware and still preserve their iPhone 4 1.59.00 baseband so they can be guaranteed an unlock when the Dev Team updates their ultrasn0w tool, follow our tutorial below.

After much anticipation, the iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak was released early this morning, but I guess the actual time depends on where you live.

This is the first untethered jailbreak solution for iOS 4.3.1. There have been other jailbreaks for iOS 4.3.1 but they were tethered and had issues with stability.

Finally, we have a stable and working iOS 4.3.1 solution; actually we have many solutions, as you'll see below. Big thanks to @i0n1c for his untether, and the iPhone Dev Team for their hard work at making this a reality...
