UltraSn0w Unlock for iPhone 4.3.2 Released

Following the release of the updated PwnageTool 4.3.2 jailbreak tool, the iPhone Dev Team has also pushed out an update to the UltraSn0w unlock in Cydia.

UltraSn0w 1.2.2 has been released to support the new iOS 4.3.2 firmware, as the previous version of UltraSn0w (1.2.1) was broken in iOS 4.3.2. Please note, this will only work for the older iPhone 4 baseband 1.59.00, and iPhone 3G/3GS  basebands 4.26.08, 5.11.07, 5.12.01, 5.13.04, and 6.15.00. It can not unlock newer basebands since there is currently no unlock available.

Dev Team Releases PwnageTool Jailbreak for iPhone 4.3.2

Sunday is "funday," so the iPhone Dev Team has just released an update to their PwnageTool jailbreak tool for Mac OSX users. PwnageTool 4.3.2 incorporates i0n1c's updated iOS 4.3.2 untethered exploit. The previous version of PwnageTool was only capable of a tethered jailbreak.

PwnageTool 4.3.2 will allow you to safely restore to an already jailbroken iOS 4.3.2 firmware and preserve your current 1.59.00 baseband so that you can use UltraSn0w to unlock your iPhone...

Dev Team Fixes RedSn0w Untethered 4.3.2 Jailbreak for iPhone 4

Yesterday, the Dev Team released their RedSn0w untethered jailbreak tool for iOS 4.3.2. While the jailbreak was working fine with most devices, there seemed to be issues with the iPhone 4, which would randomly get stuck on reboot.

With the help of i0n1c, the Dev Team fixed RedSn0w and updated it to version 0.9.6rc14. If you already ran 0.9.6rc13, you can simply download RedSn0w 0.9.6rc14 and run it over the previous one...

RedSn0w Updated to Support 4.3.2 Untethered Jailbreak

Only moments ago we told you that i0n1c released his untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.2. The download that i0n1c posted consisted of the jailbreak code, instead of an actual tool for end users.

Right after i0n1c's release, the Dev Team has updated the RedSn0w jailbreak tool with iOS 4.3.2 support. RedSn0w will successfully jailbreak iOS 4.3.2 and is available on both Mac OS X and Windows.

iOS 4.3.2 Untethered Jailbreak Verified Working

Great news coming out of the Twitter-sphere today, as Stefan Esser, better known by his Twitter handle, @i0n1c, has confirmed that Apple has left his untether vulnerability in iOS 4.3.2.

That means that as our report speculated yesterday, an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.2 is possible, and will certainly be released sometime in the not-too-distant future.

According to Esser, his iPad 1 is already running iOS 4.3.2 with an untethered jailbreak.

The question is, when can the general public expect the next version of RedSn0w and PwnageTool?

Rebel SIM Provides Another iPhone Unlock Solution

With the iPhone Dev Team's inability to find a usable baseband exploit for the iPhone 4 and release a stable unlock for basebands 2.10.04, 3.10.01, and the newer 4.10.01, several alternate iPhone 4 unlock solutions have sprouted.

The first option was the Gevey SIM Interposer. Similar to a Turbo SIM, the Gevey SIM Interposer worked by adding a EEPROM chip to your SIM card. You would then call 112 from the Emergency Dialer screen. Once the call connected you would hang up then toggle Airport mode on and off. When the network connection resumed, your iPhone 4 would be unlocked.

This method would provide a "tethered" unlock, meaning that after you reboot your iPhone, you would need to repeat the unlock process. While the legality of the unlock solution was questionable at first, Dev Team member, MuscleNerd, confirmed the unlock method was illegal.

UltraSn0w Unlock for iPhone 4.3.1 Will Be Released Tonight

After recently releasing their jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1 via PwnageTool and RedSn0w, the Dev Team is now getting ready to unleash their UltraSn0w unlock.

The current 4.3.1-compatible UltraSn0w is currently being tested by a few beta testers, and according to a tweet by Dev Team front man MuscleNerd, if everything goes well, UltraSn0w should be released tonight...

Jailbreak iPhone iOS 4.3.1

After much anticipation, the iOS 4.3.1 jailbreak was released early this morning, but I guess the actual time depends on where you live.

This is the first untethered jailbreak solution for iOS 4.3.1. There have been other jailbreaks for iOS 4.3.1 but they were tethered and had issues with stability.

Finally, we have a stable and working iOS 4.3.1 solution; actually we have many solutions, as you'll see below. Big thanks to @i0n1c for his untether, and the iPhone Dev Team for their hard work at making this a reality...

Dev Team Releases Jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1

It's here, folks. After weeks of anticipation, the Dev Team just released an untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1. This jailbreak is mostly due to the untether exploit found by i0n1c.

This jailbreak works with every device that supports iOS 4.3.1, except for the iPad 2. So to be clear, this jailbreak will work with the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPad 1, iPod Touch 4G, iPod Touch 3G, and the second generation of Apple TV...

More Details About iPhone 4.3.1 Unlock Emerge

Just to preface this before anyone gets the wrong idea; there is still no new baseband unlock available.

Now that the formalities are out of the way, I think it's safe to tell you that new details have been revealed about the existing baseband unlock and its compatibility with the soon to be released untethered jailbreak for iOS 4.3.1.

Depending on when the jailbreak is actually released, if you rely on an unlock, you may have to wait a while until a new version of UltraSn0w is released. This is due to some compatibility issues between iOS 4.3.1 and the current version of UltraSn0w.

Fortunately, you won't have to wait long, as the latest tweets from members of the iPhone Dev Team confirm...
