Wallpapers of the week: Christmas

About once per decade, Christmas falls on a Sunday. As avid iDB readers, you know Sunday brings new images to the Wallpapers of the Week category. While we have a very diverse readership, we wanted to celebrate the holiday, as it fell directly on Sunday.

Black and white wallpapers for macOS and iOS

Every Apple operating system comes with great stock images. From iOS to macOS, the images always inspire. While recently, the GM versions seem to be launching fewer and fewer stock wallpapers, the ones included are always very popular.

In today's Wallpapers of the Week collection, you can find several of the stock photos, modified into black and white. The set is great for your new matte or jet black iPhones, but the images' contrast will look great on any iPhone screen.

MacBook Pro with Touch Bar event wallpapers

Today, Apple announced the new MacBook Pro with a new touch sensitive function bar that dynamically changes based on active applications. Naturally, there were some shiny images shown on the screens, during the keynote this morning. Quickly, I began getting requests for modifications and mock ups of these images via Twitter.

Apple October 27 event wallpapers: “hello again”

Today, Apple announced the upcoming media event on October 27. With the announcement, in traditional fashion, comes a simple graphic representation of the event. As always, armchair pundits and tea leaf readers try to discern the hidden messages believed to be concealed in the graphic.

iPhone 7 is slowly making its way to customers. With around a two month wait time on deliveries, Apple fans are still anxiously awaiting there device. This special edition of  the Wallpapers of the Week is coming a little earlier than usual to celebrate the release of iOS 10, but also because there has been an incredible demand for this one specific wallpaper.

Last week, Apple sent media invitations for the upcoming September 7th event, assumedly announcing the iPhone 7. The newest flagship device is expected to hold the same form factor as the previous two iPhone generations, with marked improvement to the cameras, waterproof capabilities, and the audio experience. But, you will need to decide for yourself if losing the 3.5mm headphone jack is truly an 'improvement.'

On WWDC 2016 eve, many rumors are piling up about tomorrow's event. We covered a full round up of expectations to get you reading for the big day. Personally, I'm most excited about what a new watchOS could bring to the wrist. My fingers are crossed for a watch face library that can be submitted by independent designers and developers. A little more control over the complications would be great!

Apple WWDC 2016 wallpapers

Last week, Apple officially announced the upcoming WWDC, to be held in San Francisco. The conference, which starts with a flagship media keynote presentation, also extends for several days of individual sessions and learning experiences, focusing around software development.

Each year, the invitation brings an exciting stir to the Apple community and we gather submitted wallpapers for review. If you are excited about the upcoming conference or just want to show some Apple pride, step inside for a set of images.

iPhone SE and iPad Pro wallpapers

We are excited to bring you a spectacular set of images for Wallpapers of the Week. Last Monday, Apple announced iPhone SE and the new iPad Pro, which comes now in 9.7" versions. Once the devices were highlighted on the website, several new wallpapers appeared on the device advertisements. Only a couple of hours later, I was getting pinged with hopeful iDB readers, trying to download the new images.

Thanks to some work from our loyal readers, I was able to snag these wallpapers and am excited to offer them to you. March 21 Apple event wallpapers: “Let us loop you in”

On Thursday, March 10, Apple sent invitations for their media event, "Let us loop you in," to be held on Monday, March 21. The event is said to reveal a completely new handset, dubbed the iPhone SE. In addition, a refresh of the iPad Air is expected to bring the device more in-line with iPad Pro. Finally, there is a potential for new Apple Watch accessories, specifically bands, and updates to the operating systems for OS X, iOS, and Watch OS.

The invitation, which always includes an image, will no doubt send the blogosphere reeling with guesses about hidden images that are allegedly included.
