Browett, a the former head of Dixons in the UK, takes over from Ron Johnson who left to take up a role at JC Penney last November.

You Can Now Manage Your Sprint Account From Your iPhone

Everyone needs to be able to keep tabs on their smartphone account. Even Sprint customers – we love you really! – should be able to take their iPhone and keep up to date on just what is going on with their Sprint accounts. Now they can.

Sprint has today launched its own iPhone app called "Sprint Mobile Zone" and it's actually a rather nice looking affair.

More importantly, the app actually has some useful features, with the ability to access your Sprint account not the only thing you'll be using Sprint Mobile Zone for...

Protect Your iPhone Screen with More Glass!

Nobody without a medical condition can seriously claim the iPhone's all-glass construction was a particularly good idea. While many of us have iPhones that have survived some considerable hammering, plenty have reported of cracks and scratches from the most inconspicuous of goings on.

There are already plenty of screen protectors out there that claim to keep your iPhone's glass face in pristine condition, but none have grabbed our attention quite like the Spigen GLAS.t has.

For starters, the cover itself is made of, wait for it, glass! Yup, you read that right. Not just any glass though, this thing's made of tempered glass which is just, well, better...

Apple Remembers Steve Jobs Through Photos and Quotes

Apple is still coming to terms with the loss of its charismatic co-founder and former CEO Steve Jobs, and probably will be for some time. While there is no doubting new CEO Tim Cook's abilities to run a tight ship, he'll possibly be the first to admit that there will only ever be one Steve Jobs.

The company remembers Jobs throughout the halls of its 1 Infinite Loop campus, with photos of the man who saved Apple back in the 90s placed on the walls of Apple's HQ. Quotes are also seen attached to corridor walls, with some of Jobs' famous pearls of wisdom there to help motivate the Apple team even from beyond the grave.

Now 9to5 Mac has been given photographs of some of the photos and quotes that can be found inside Apple's offices, with at least one of them taking employees back to the days of the original Macintosh...

RIM Looking into BlackBerry Messenger for Other Platforms

RIM's new CEO Thorsten Heins may have inherited a sinking ship, but he seems determined to explore all avenues in his attempt to find an escape route for the ailing Canadian firm.

Having previously been very keen to keep its BlackBerry Messenger crown jewel as a key feature that is exclusive to its hardware, BlackBerry smartphones may not be the only ones to support it some time in the future. RIM's new CEO outlined his company's openness to such a move during an interview with CrackBerry.

If RIM was to license its SMS-like instant messaging system to third parties then it could stript the firm's handsets of arguably their biggest feature...

Bill Gates Sent a Letter to Steve Jobs Before He Passed

Bill Gates has told how he sent Steve Jobs a personal letter before his death, and explained how the pair's complicated relationship worked.

During an interview with The Telegraph, the former Microsoft CEO spoke about Jobs and the relationship between the two during the Macintosh days and how the two became competitors after initially working on the same project.

Bill Gates also went on to describe Jobs as an "incredible genius" and spoke about the Apple CEO's work in increasing the Mac's market share in the face of competition from Microsoft's PC platform...

Is Apple Unwittingly Exchanging Stolen iPhones?

If you've ever taken a broken iPhone back to an Apple Store for repair or replacement, then you'll be well aware at just how easy the company makes it. You take your iPhone in, Apple checks its warranty by referencing its serial number and you walk out with a replacement.

But that "customer comes first" approach may also be making it easier for thieves to chop in stolen iPhones and then receive a replacement free of charge. While that may seem pointless initially, when you remember that stolen handsets can be blocked from carriers based on their IMEI number, then the whole thing makes a lot of sense.

The revelation that Apple may be unwittingly exchanging stolen goods comes via security firm McAfee, which blames Apple's "honor system" for giving thieves an easy way to get rid of hot goods...

Apple may appear to be the biggest tablet vendor on the planet with the company selling iPads hand over fist, but it seems that end-users are not the only ones taking a shine to the tablet.

According to new figures from enterprise mobile services vendor Good Technology, the iPad made up 96% of the tablets activated at the 2,000 companies that use its services.

The iPhone is proving popular in the enterprise also, with 53% of the smartphones activated being of the Apple variety...

In Some Key Markets, There Are More Connected Phones Than Computers

A new report form the boys and girls of Google has revealed a couple of interesting facts about mobile phone usage across five key markets.

Looking at the five countries that are leading the charge towards a connected life – United States, UK, Japan, France and Germany – the search and mobile giant has come to a couple of interesting conclusions.

Firstly, and perhaps not such a surprise, it appears that Smartphones are rapidly eating into the remaining feature phone share, with the proliferation of iPhones, Android phones and the like causing users to upgrade to more powerful handsets.

More interestingly however, it appears there are now more people connected with a smartphone than people connected with a computer...

Foxconn Employee: iPhone 5 is Ready for Production

Rumors are part and parcel of an Apple device, but 9to5Mac just dropped something of a bombshell, with the news that a Foxconn employee has apparently told them that the iPhone 5 – or whatever it ends up being called – is ready for final production, leaving a summer launch a possibility.

Rumors of just what the iPhone 5 will be have been around for quite some time now, but this latest round comes with added weight, assuming this supposed Foxconn employee's information is accurate.

The source also shared some other interesting information, including the size of the screen and other structural tidbits that could alter the smartphone landscape considerably...

The Kindle Fire Did Not Affect iPad Sales

Amazon's Kindle Fire was expected to have a detrimental effect on Apple's iPad sales leading up to the Christmas season, but according to the company's CEO, that isn't actually how it panned out.

During Apple's quarterly earnings call yesterday, new CEO Tim Cook shared that he has been keeping a close eye on iPad sales since the release of Amazon's competing product just in case it managed to take a bite out of Apple's sales.

According to Cook, that didn't actually happen. In fact, the Kindle Fire didn't affect iPad sales at all...
