In a recent tweet by iH8sn0w, he has stated that iOS 5 Beta 5 will expire on September 14, 2011. This means that if you use your iDevice past that date and time, it will lock up, forcing you to restore to the GM or final version of iOS 5 (depending on when the final version is released). If haven't heard already, iOS 5 Beta 5 was released today with some new features.

Apple Still Signing iOS 4.1 Firmware
Today, we received an interesting tip from iDB reader Burge. He informed us that Apple is still signing the iOS 4.1 firmware. He told us that he tested it on his newer model iPhone 3GS and his son's iPod Touch 2nd generation.
This is very interesting for 2 reasons. First, why would Apple sign a firmware that came out in September? Also, why out of all the iOS updates, 4.1 is the only one in the past still being signed?
Rdio Releases Official App for iPad
Rdio, the popular subscription based music streaming service, has finally released an official iPad app. Up until now, there was no iPad app, only an app for the iPhone/iPod touch.
If you want to download this app, it will show up as an update if you have the iPhone app installed on your iPad. Along with a new iPad interface, the app also has in app-purchasing.
67% of BlackBerry Owners Ready to Switch Over to the iPhone
It seems RIM's BlackBerry user base continues to decline, according to a new research study from Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster. Once the most popular smartphone in the United States, BlackBerry is losing market share rapidly, despite introducing several new handsets and its new BlackBerry 7 OS.
According to the study, out of 216 smartphone users 64 percent of them said their next purchase will be an iPhone, most likely the next-generation iPhone 5. Munster claims that his study also found that 67 percent of BlackBerry owners would switch to an iPhone.
