The F1 seasons continues today with the Azerbaijan Grand Prix at Baku City Circuit. The 75 year old F1 format has long been a choice sport for technology focused fans given then incredible amount of advancement in Motorsport, specifically led by Formula 1. McLaren, the 2025 season Constructors and individual driver lead team, uses Papaya Orange as their official livery and company color. McLaren is having their moment in the current 2025 racing season. With Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris taking P1 and P2 in the race leader standings to date. As a result, McLaren is winning the Constructors Series as well, far out pacing second place. Whether you are a McLaren fan or not, it is hard to deny their current dominance on the track, at least for the first half of this season.

Apple is squashing that by passive aggressively not offerOng any dark, gray, or black iPhone Pro options this year. For the iPhone 17 Pro lineup Apple is offering the most loud color on any previous iPhone, Cosmic Orange. It is undeniably going to stand out in a crowd, much like the Papaya Orange when lined up on the grid among 18 other similarly shaped vehicles.

The overlap may not be a total coincidence, given the BBC once reported Apple and McLaren were actually in talks to combine their efforts on a vehicle project in September 2016. Maybe this is a subtle nod to the project that would have been, given the Cosmic Orange is releasing exactly nine years later, in September 2025.
