Apple is reportedly testing upcoming support for the Douyin Pay payment feature for App Store purchases in China, according to local media reports.

South China Morning Post cited mainland media, saying Apple has begun testing Douyin Pay support as a new mobile payment option for the App Store in China.
Local outlets IThome and MyDrivers reported that once tests are completed, Douyin Pay will become the fourth payment option on the App Store in mainland China.

Douyin Pay was launched in January 2021 by Douyin, China’s version of TikTok, created by TikTok owner ByteDance. It’s a way for Duoyin users to purchase products from native stores that are available on the platform.
Duoyin users must first link their bank card with Douyin to complete payment requests by entering their 6-digit payment code, including livestream shopping and in-app purchases.
Apple already supports several domestic payment services on the Chinese App Store, including state-run China UnionPay through credit and debit card support, Ant Group’s Alipay and Tencent Holdings’ WeChat Pay.
