In an announcement shared on Monday by the Spotify music streaming service, the company said that it would be increasing the price of its Spotify Premium subscription tier across multiple markets around the world, including South Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe, Latin America, and the Asia-Pacific region.

Affected customers will receive an email from Spotify explaining the changes, with a sample email shared in the announcement suggesting that the price will increase in these regions from €10.99 to €11.99 – a single Euro more.
The sample email reads:
Thank you for being a valued Premium subscriber. Starting on your billing date in September, your subscription price will change from 10,99€/month to 11,99€/month.
We’re increasing the price of Premium Individual so that we can continue to innovate on our product offerings and features, and bring you the best experience.
Thank you for choosing Premium.
The Spotify Team
Customers who aren’t okay with the price hike can cancel their subscription from their account settings. There are also alternative plans available if the customer desires something less costly.
It’s worth noting that the price isn’t changing in the United States, with the cost remaining at $11.99 per month for an individual Spotify Premium subscription.
As it would seem, nothing is sacred anymore. Subscription services are bumping up prices in virtually every space, from movies, to music, to anything else you can think of. Rising operating costs are often cited as the primary reason for price hikes when large companies provide an explanation.
